Dubber:

Just saw your link to cleanwagen.com and took a trip there.

Very nicely done.

Who knew that Ottawa has Palm Trees? ;-)

Learn something new everyday... :lol_hitti That was from a vacation that ended up including a job and photo shoot :bounce: Thanks for stopping by.

Damn, lots of room. How deep is your garage? In real money please.

Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk

Its just shy of 29 feet deep. This summer i'm likely going to play with seeing how many cars i can fit in there. I think i could actually fit 6 with 4 in straight and two parked perpendicular at the back.

More progress to update...

Cleaned up the electrical panel to a level i'm happy with at the moment. I've had several recommendations of people to box it in which i may explore at some point, however i don't want to add bulk in that spot.

Compared to how it was, i think it looks much cleaner.

Added another Husky 8' Track wall system. There will be another right beside, at some point :)

New TV installed after much debate on location, and height etc. Cleaned up the wire as well.

Absolutely loving this view.

Is it standard in Canada to not recess the panel into the studs or is that just how this one was done? Interesting that they would allow the wires to be exposed like that without any requirement for physical protection. Anywho, it cleaned up well

I'm assuming its a Canadian thing, although maybe its more regional for my Province or City. I just checked old pictures and this is the third home i've owned and the previous two also contained the same set-up. But thanks, even my wife said she digs the industrial look to it.

Love the garage dubber. I'm on the opposite coast, just starting my garage reno. Funny, we have identical cars, and I just ordered the same cabinets. I'm diggin your taste with the floors/colors. Ill be keeping up on this thread. Thanks for the inspiration!

Sorry to comment from the peanut gallery but I agree that I'm surprised the cables from the electrical panel are exposed like that. Seems like they could be a hazard if unintentionally snagged by something metallic.

May I suggest you take a trip to Home Cheapo and get some sheet metal to bend an extension for each side of the panel to cover the cables and paint them the same color as the panel, OR the black you used on the conduit? Or, if not worried about these extensions being fire resistant you could get one of those black plastic mixing trays and cut off the long sides wide enough to use as covers. Leave them black or paint them to match the panel. It'd almost look custom!

Otherwise, everything looks as good as your stuff always does. NIICE!

As always i appreciate your wisdom, thanks Dan.

I need more organizational features like this in my garage, looks great!

Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thus far i'm very happy with how the vision to make the space aesthetically pleasing, practical and super functional.

More updates to share....

This one is small in scale in comparison to the rest of the space but it was an area i really wanted to improve while adding functionality. I think this was able to do both. The initial plan was to simply paint the area to clean it up a bit, but i decided to go further. . I had an extra 8' Husky Track wall package i wasn't going to use so i opted to return and pick up a 4' package and chop it up :)

I installed a bunch of the slat wall in my garage and it amuses me to no end (and I appreciate) how much work you did to install that to have flexibility... to add one hook, dead center! It looks great, it's just funny ha.

Cheers,
Mark

The idea was started to clean up the area, and once i realized it was the perfect spot for the mop, it was solidified hahaha. To be honest i can't believe what a mess those things produce to cut. I had (still have) tiny plastic flakes everywhere! Despite having a decent sized tarp under the area i was cutting.

Appreciate you continuing to follow the journey. Kinda crazy seeing the evolution. I even enjoy going back and checking out my previous threads, and even to reference things such as paint colour which was recently very handy for my new space.

Today's loaner looks like its at home. 2019 Audi A5 Sportback.
I've always enjoyed trying new cars since i first got my license many moons ago. I remember going to dealerships regularly to try the newest and greatest, or even just to experience differently optioned versions. I have to admit that i still do it :bounce:

I really see why you opted to leave the finish on the interior side of the garage doors, when someone else suggested to paint match to your walls.

The grain pattern & finish on them looks very nice & high end.

Do you happen to know the manufacture?
I see (but can't zoom in legibly) they have a label, but maybe that's for the installer/maintaining company.

Is the exterior texture & finish the same as the interior shown?
You have a high attention to detail, what's your impression of them?

I think these might be a good option for my future door replacement on my Mid Century Modern double.

Thanks for your help!

These doors were honestly one of my first draws to the house. I love the look and quality. Made by Garaga, who seems to have cornered the market in my neighbourhood as many have their staple small red logo on the bottom right.

Thanks much for the reply, I'm checking out they site now -
https://www.garaga.com/

My near to 60 year old all wood door is telling me "yeah you know there are newer designs that would be more practical in style & use"... or maybe it's my tired old back & arms saying that.
A fresh door & opener are moving from the "want" side to the "need" side of the list.
Of course while staying true the home design & the low ceiling flat roof/exposed beam double (really it's originally a car port, typical MCM).

Thanks for your help & I look forward to enjoying your great space from a far.

Not a problem at all. They seem to have a great sight allowing you to configure from a huge array of options.

Might i also suggest a new opener such as the LiftMaster or Chamberlain side mounts while you are updating your space. That style really helps to clean things up along with the fact that they perform very well, are likely the quietest option and more secure with their locking system.

Thank you sir. Yea I’ve been extremely productive with my time thus far. Can’t believe how much has been improved already. My initial goal was to be ready by spring but it’s looking like I should be done way before then. More updates to share after this weekend

Finally decided on a route on finishing the unfinished cavities above the three garage doors. Ended up deciding to re-purpose the white shelving unit that i had taken down that housed the recycling boxes etc when we moved in. Planning on painting them the same colours of the walls but for now it actually looks pretty good.

Looks good Dubber. I saw the exposed insulation in an early post and was going to comment but I figured you had a master plan.

Man, you must have taken a Sabbatical from work or something, I don’t know how you’re finding all the time! Keep it up, exciting progress as usual.

Nice to see a solution to clean up the mounting area. I find it surprising/annoying how often the garage door install is such an afterthought in new construction.

[soapbox] The installers scab on some 2X's and a "collection" of generic angle strips to mount the rails. You see this in some nice high end homes (eye roll). [/soapbox]:)

The garage looks great! Nice to see the progression/steps from 1 to 2 to 3 car garage. I must admit that your garages are the case in point why to get the RaceDeck. It looks great in each of your garages, and transforms it to the next level. One day I will have that, one day...

Keep up the good work!

PS. Love the garage doors!

Hahaha, you know me well.

Funny enough no. I too am shocked with the quick turnover. Honestly over Christmas Holidays i put in a solid chunk of grunt work. That combined with an understanding wife and being super motivated means a ton of my free time has been productive time in the garage.

I too am always shocked by this. Finished garages often have that area still unfinished. I still have some fine tuning up there but a huge visual change is now done.

Truly appreciate it. Yes RaceDeck is an amazing product for my application for sure, certainly not everyone. Fun to plan, install and enjoy on a daily basis. And the ability to take it with you is very unique. The doors are certainly the "pièce de résistance".

I was thinking the exact same thing :lol_hitti

Hard to capture full width with my phone, but this shows all cavities have been filled. Post with the mop will have an Chamberlain opener added, with light and a cord reel as well.

Browsing through my local Canadian Tire yesterday and stumbled onto all black boxes which sadly made my day. My previous recycling boxes were all branded and had my old address on them. Again, I feel this was another purchase which is proving my age; being excited about buying recycling boxes lol...

And how this spot looked two months ago.

/\ That shelving unit was repurposed to the cavities above the garage doors.
