Might have been answered previously, but I don't remember sawing anything about the temp. At what temp do you keep your new garage?

For me, it's always finding that point where it's warm enough, but not too warm because the costs start climbing up very fast in the winter. I have it at ~12C currently. When washing or bringing in a very wet car, I sometimes use an extra warmer with fan to increase the temp and airflow, in an evening it will rise to ~16C. If I would keep it at 16-20C, then the warming costs would increase at least by 50-100€ per month (in the winter).

I must be getting old, I want an Audi or a Cadillac when I grow up.

Hahaha. Never too early. Highly recommend Audi and the S3 was a delight.

what vacuum and or shampooer are you using. your mat lines are very nice.

My extractor right now is a plain Jane Dirt Devil

Pretty simple to make directional lines with a brush after cleaning

Exactly. The lines are done with a brush. Always a touch the owners appreciate.

Still need a shampooer too. more concerened with that purchase than the lines.

I set my thermostat at 13C when I’m not in there. Usually put it up to 15-16 when I’m working in there

Hey dubber, got any new car pics you wanna share? *wink wink*

I think you know what I'm talking about :D

Hahaha. I’ll have to load some up. She’s purdy as you seem to already know 😉

That must be the key to having everything organized. Have a place for everything, and get rid of everything that doesn't have a place. Still learning, I have accumulated so much stuff, just trying to get rid of it all, in the house and garage...

BTW, I do like the backsplash. Nice place to have a cuppa and admire the work done to a car. And it's like you measured the stool and the cabinets beforehand to make sure it fits ;)

Thanks! Yea I’m pretty obsessive with things being put away and clutter eliminated. Backsplash turned out really well I think. Love the look, and function of the area.

Wellll.... since you asked... Here's a few of my new baby. Unfortunately had to sell my gorgeous Misano Red S3 near RS3 clone, but it was well worth it.

Oh man - excited to see the 911! I just got back into another Porsche myself - a 997 Targa 4 - after owning two air-cooled 911s and a 996 Turbo. Loving it so far. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Hahaha, ok if you insist, I’ll share a few more. And thanks it was certainly a big moment for me.

Congrats! I looked at a Targa 4 which I would have considered more seriously had I had the same service information and positive vibe from the dealer.

She's a beauty dubber. Looks right at home in your space. Probably my grail car. Super jealous!

My grail car as well. Especially this body style in silver is so quintessential 911 for me.

That looks awesome! Congrats!

Man, what a prom queen that car is! SO damn nice.

Thanks Dan. I went all the way across the country and flew out with my wife to ensure this was the one. No regrets.

Congrats and welcome to the Porsche world

Nice to finally be a member hehehe.

Here’s a few more as I start to make it my own.

Congrats on the Porsche - looks spectacular, and I’m sure you will keep it looking that way. The garage looks great, very organized (If you are ever in Chicago I could use your help organizing). Keep up the great work.

Thanks! Yes I plan to keep it in top notch condition. Still shocked how nice it is for already being 14 yrs old. And appreciate the garage kudos, it’s been an amazing project that I look forward to getting back into daily.

Very nice porsche 911 dubber

After some time away from GJ, I had to check out your latest. What a great spot and so well organized. Love the latest addition (not so new anymore) to the stable. Got any updates?

I'm looking for some decent clear license plate covers. Yours look good. What brand and/or where did you purchase them?
Thanks, Mike

Mine were sourced at a local canadian company (Canadian Tire), think similar to an Autozone in the US. I like that they aren't flat and have a curve. Usually replace every couple years as they are only like $10.

Thanks. I miss Canadian Tire (we used to live in Manitoba). I'll take a look at Autozone, and I like that they aren't flat either.

Greetings from Southwestern Ontario. Absolutely unreal space, man. I'm so jealous. I've been a lurker on this site since 2016 and your iterations have been some of my favourites. I have a couple of questions; what lighting are you using above your New Age Cabinets to light up your Porsche letters? Also, do you have a source for the Porsche letters or were they a one-off? Thanks and keep sharing. It's very inspiring.

Very kind of you, and much appreciated! So funny enough the over the cabinet lighting for the letters, is actually under cabinet lighting that i sourced at Costco. Artika lights. They have three lights and a connection between and lay flat. Works great for this application. As for the letters, random find that was worth the cost. www.customgaragedecor.com

Thanks so much for the reply. I actually have those exact Artika lights from Costco. I have them mounted under my garage cabinets with double-sided tape to light up the bench. I have a similar New Age set up and I love them. I was debating getting an led light strip to put above the cabinets to create a similar effect and possibly change colours to match my garage theme. However, I'm still debating in my mind whether that would look cheesy or not. I guess I don't have to use the colours and just have it white like yours. I like the thought of having more ambient light. Then the next question is where to get a decently priced light strip that won't break in a year from now.

Also, thanks a lot for the source on the Porsche letters. They're actually very reasonable. I was afraid they were like anything Porsche and the price would be astronomical.
