folks need a little help, i need to reverse my 1/4 HP dunlap split phase motor.

tag says to reverse the yellow leads in terminal box end casting.

unfortunately due to the age of the motor the color of the wires have faded.

OK, do this:

1. Mark all the wires and disconnect each one.
2. From the one visible yellow wire, measure continuity to all the (now disconnected) wires. One will have continuity. This is your other yellow!
3. Reattach the wires you removed in step 1.

another question say for example

wire C and wire D had continuity

then

wire A and wire B had continutiy

would it matter which set of wires i reversed ??

I have the same motor and issue as the OP except my motor only has two wires(that are also faded). Is it just as simple as switching wires from post to post?

No, only 2 wires means its non reversible without delving further into the internal connections, behind the connection plate.

Thanks for looking, I just snuck out now and made the interchange, after finding my yellow leads.
