Dunlap tools & boxes

My new favorite tool...Dunlap stainless steel pocket rule with decimal equivalents to fractions (1/8, 1/16, 1/32 & 1/64) on the back. I picked it up at an estate sale with a lot of other tools & relevant shop stuff recently. In the two weeks I've had it, I've reached for this thing 8-10 times already.

Neat find JoCo. I don’t pick up many Dunlap tools but found myself buying this one from a vendor I like to deal with. The Circle Y reminded me of a thread from last year.

I found this on Friday but it was hiding in the trunk of the Camry until yesterday. The top drawer was full of resistors, for some reason. It is the second one I’ve found.

3bay, that circle Y adjustable is a good example of dunlap and craftsman tools of comparable quality. Same vendor craftsman used for a few years on adjustable. Read a whole other post with a fella dumping on everything dunlap.

Yep, it's a quality wrench. Most Dunlap tools are. It may be a McKaig-Hatch. I like that it has the =, like Craftsman.

How many sets of those DOE's do you have now?

Hey what's up with the " 3/8" x 6 " on the adjustable? Is the "3/8" the jaw opening, or thickness of the head, or... ?

Be careful or I’ll start sending you my Dunlap duplicates to add to your existing overwhelming overstock!
The only thing that I can think of is the 3/8” might be the thickness of the jaws. It is a 6” adjustable.

It's a German (and perhaps a European) thing that I only became aware of myself in December 2019 when I found this Miltex 1/4 x 4" adjustable crescent-type wrench, as reported and discussed on the Garage Sale thread.

Thanks, guys. I didn’t see any dating information in the packaging. Maybe one of the guys with the Craftsman catalog set might spot it. One thing is sure. It was made before 1961.

My garden Shears.

Green with black blades. Looks like they even painted the galvanizes parts and has almost completely worn off. They also don't have a blade lock.

I've got that exact set.. I'll have to see if I can find a label or marking...

I think they all follow the same basic design. The biggest difference is that yours has a left spring and mine has a right spring

I saw a Dunlap driver today with the red cap on the handle. But somewhere along the line the phillips tip had been ground down to a scratch awl, so, I passed.

Thanks. The problem with finding those is that the post ‘60 Sears marked screwdrivers are very similar in appearance. I find that I pick up a lot of screwdrivers at sales and end up setting them back down.
