First of all, welcome to GJ.
Unless there is some limit for junior members I don't know about, you should be able to attach up to 7 images in one post. Hit [Go Advanced], then [Manage Attachments], and it should open a browser to attach files (again, up to 7 per post) from your computer.
Secondly, that is a cool *** set! I've never seen that label before. The ratchet is from a refrigeration set. There are no special sockets (with slots and edges etc for packing glands and such) in that set, though, so I'm guessing it's a replacement (for a missing regular 1/4-inch drive ratchet), or the other way around. The "RS" in the model number might indicate "refrigeration set", in which case, maybe the sockets don't belong, or possibly it didn't have any special packing gland type sockets. EDIT: I take that back. I do see at least one special packing gland socket.
Please post more pics of the pieces with the red hexagonal handles. Are they bushing tools or peening punches or what?
You should post these and more photos in the Duro-Indestro thread, linked here.
Lastly, if four.cycle happens along, he may have some ads to help you out. I have the 1939 and 1941 Duro-Chrome catalogs, and there are no "Doggone Good" branded tools in it. If anyone has anything on this, it would be him.
Yup. I saw the reefer sockets hiding in there after my initial post. You may have missed my edit. Interesting call on the carb stands ID. They look to be different sizes though, no?There are some refrigeration sockets in there. Looks like a mixed set of stuff. I think those red things are carb stands
I have some old ads from 4.c on my home computer. I'll go through them later. Unless he gets to this thread first. I don't think I was aware of this branding before. I like it!I know I have that TM on TA........if it ever comes back.....
Good morning. I'm trying to figure out what all should be in this tool box and when it was made.
I can't find the TM, but that dog and the "Doggone Good Tools" branding is all over the 1951 Duro Metal Products catalog. It's featured in the Intro and it's on the bottom of every page. So sometime between WWII and 1951. Funny. I know the 1939 and the 1941 catalogs like the back of my hand, but this is the first time I have ever cracked that 1951 catalog open.I know I have that TM on TA........if it ever comes back.....

There should be two of them, actually. One drive plug and one 1/4-to-3/8 adapter drive plug. Looking at Otg's set made me study the contents list harder. The special reefer sockets are all 45XX 1/4-inch drive. And five (5) of the standard sockets are 45XX 1/4-inch drive. But three (3) of the standard sockets are 44XX 3/8-inch drive! So you actually need the second plug with the 3/8-inch step up to drive those. The drive plug is in there.
Looks like the same exact era as Va45's.I had this posted on the duro indestro thread. The guy I got it from said it was complete. What year I don't know.
