I have a Makita compound mitre saw.It gets light hobby use.Very good tool.
I only use a mask when I use it,but the garage.workshop gets very dusty, even with the small Makita dust collector bag attached to the exhaust pipe.I am now a bit concerned about the health issues in that the mask is not enough.
From here on in,I only intend to use the saw in the open air,and have built a substantial trolley on castors to wheel it out.
Plenty of warnings around about fine particle dust ,and extractors that go down to 0.5 micron levels ,but I don't want to spend about 400 quid ($700 ish) on a shop dust extraction system if I only intend to use only in the open air.
Would my mask be good enough for open air use of the saw? ALSO(this is essential)
What if I JUST attached a pipe to the exhaust of the saw and stuck the end in a big disposable plastic bag,as I don't want all that stuff going into the air.
