I have an opportunity to pick up an Eagle GLO-7000 4 post lift very cheap. I was waiting to buy a good quality 2 post but I need to store a car up and this one is available local for $600 plus pick it up. I figured since it will not get a lot of raise / lower cycles it would last and I don't necessarily have to bolt it down (so it is far from permanent) i could live with it for a few years until I have the $3-4K for a real lift.

Anyone have any experience with these?

Eagle Equipment is out of Greenboro, NC and they were friendly on the phone and allowed me to tour their wharehouse some 10 years back when I was looking at one of their four post lifts. Back then they claimed to stock repair/replacement parts and their ramps were aluminum (when most others were steel wiith aluminum being an extra cost option).

My father has a 8000# Eagle four post, he has had it since 2013 or 2014. It is an OK lift for a home shop.

As far as parts being stocked, he broke a lifting cable last summer from it coming off a pulley and binding up. It didnt completely break it, but it was mangled enough to not use it after getting the truck down. Eagle had the cable in stock and shipped the next day.

Cool
I bought it yesterday, just need to disassemble and bring it home.
It is in almost new condition and has been holding fairly light MGs for 13 years.

I have two 8,000 lb Eagle lifts that came from their N. Carolina dealer. The first and only one I ordered was supposed to be the extra high model but they shipped a standard height one in error. I got it delivered, all unpacked and didn't see the difference until the posts were erected. After contacting them about their error and asking them to send someone to re-crate it and send it back in exchange for the one I ordered, they agreed to let me keep the first smaller lift for free and also send me the correct one at no charge.

In these days of poor supplier customer service, these folks were extremely cooperative and easy to work with. I am confident they will be there for me in the future if I need any parts or service.

Regarding the lifts, they are not professional auto mechanic quality but perfectly fine for the home shop. A friend also has had two of them for the past 18 years with no troubles or problems. I have the aluminum ramps which are light and easy to handle but have had to have them re-welded as they will get damaged if not set perfectly flat on the floor before you drive up on them.

For $600, you got yourself a great deal.

After a total of 5 hours disassembly and moving (3 trips in a Tacoma) followed by another 4 hours of assembly and 2 more hours adjusting I have the lift in and up. I really am happy with it, especially for $600 flat. We did look a bit strange with a 13 foot ramp in a 6 foot bed, so very glad it was only a few miles from home. I have seen stranger stuff going down the road in North Cackalacki!

It was obvious that it had not been all the way up in a long time as it came from a normal ceiling and was stacking 2 smaller cars, but after some ram cleaning and adjustment it was all good.

I really wanted a 2 post but for ~$3000 savings I am good with this. I will get some jacks for the sliding tray and make do

Thanks for reporting and posting a photo of the installation. Too many on this forum just leave you wondering how the problem or question they asked about turned out.
