When my Model A coupe is ready for it's interior I may drive out to centralish Washington so you can do it while I wait. Then again I will most likely do the smart thing and have my friend Ben up the road do it. Now, if I win the lottery big I will fly you in when one of my hot rods needs threads.

Scrubbed and sprayed down the outside of the shop this afternoon. Surprised how well it cleaned up. Needs an entire exterior facelift.. in time it will happen. Next up is a new steel roof on the stucco building.

This is the roof getting replaced my Rol-Loc steel:

The rotted out 2x12 band is getting replaced and the curled up edge of the roof repaired:

Then, gutters will get installed.

Contractor was here bright and early this morning. They have the old roof nearly stripped off in about an hour. Going to have to sheath over the existing stuff. Gaps up to an inch in places between boards. I'm so excited for this to be done!!

Good feeling to know your roof is solid and watertight. You're sinking a lot of dough into this place, you must have a great client list.

Toolfool- just a guy chasing his dream!

hnsy- thanks for the kind words and checking out my thread!

Contractor decided to jack the middle supporting beams to help level the roof. So far so good.

This is going well! Will be dried in today. They are covering the whole thing with ice shield.

They got the soffit done, raised the center support beams to help flatten out the roof deck, firred it up the rest, fully sheathed, and ice shield over the whole thing.

Rol-Loc steel goes on tomorrow.

Nice work on the roof, nothing worse than drip buckets everywhere. I have two places that leak in my shop and I keep chasing the entry point, aggravating!

That demo door panel came out great, MS is really changing the game with all their innovative ideas.

Keep on rocking man!

Thank you Drives!! The old building needs a lot. Sometimes it's hard to not get discouraged. Today, it's looking good. Sadly the other roof needs immediate attention.

Slodat: sometimes progress is slow, but if you keep at it all of a sudden you GET R DONE. i have a flat roof on my home and just before we re roofed it about 20 years ago i had to grab a bucket of i think it was called HENRY'S roof tar (get some gloves and throw away shoes and clothes) and made a few patches. also comes in a caulking gun form if you have some small holes. might be a good temp fix to the other roof until the weather gets better or the funds are available.

keeping all that cool stuff inside out of the weather is the important thing cause your shop has come a long way. if you don't believe me just look at the beginning of your thread.

WELL DONE!!

This roof has 8" over 30'. It is old and severely curled at the edge leaving puddles across half of the 70' width. It needs to be repaired :/

This morning shot of the new roof. Remaining trim goes on Friday!

Did you consider a layer of ridged foam insulation under the plywood? When I had the flat roof on my house in Albuquerque (years ago) replaced I speechified an insulating under layment. Made a big difference in my heating and cooling bill.

We didn't know it would need the sheathing until the roof was off. Timing wasn't right to add the foam. I'm leaning hard on spraying foam in.

Thanks guys! I must have walked outside to stare in amazement twenty times yesterday afternoon!

Next project is getting the last bay ready for paint and electric going in the metal fab room.

Decided to add 24 of the same 105W CFL's in my upholstery bay (bays 5&6). It's a ton of work, but will yield 130 lumens/sq ft. Bulbs orders. Picked up 24 porcelain lamp bases and such. Pulling in the power to the switch box, then running all of the pipe for the lamps.

I have some new additions to the shop in the works. First one arrived yesterday. Twin needle post bed machine with split needle bar. Each needle can be turned off to sew square corners and such.
