Just wanted to chime in about this. I been shopping for a compressor for my new shop and someone on here mentioned the polar air/Eaton compressor. Yesterday me and a buddy was headed right past there facility and decided to swing in. First off I was a little blown away at the place, I figured a lot more would be going on. The place was very laid back and although they were busy, they weren't to busy for us. I entered the showroom and saw about a dozen compressors sitting on the floor. When I entered the place a gentleman walked around the corner headed to do something and asked how we were. I told him what I was doing and I had read good things about your company and product. The gentleman quickly introduced himself as Matt, the owner of the company. He took us and showed us his newest compressor setup.
Now, onto the product. Matt showed us an 80 gallon 7.5hp compressor with there new patent pending whisper unit attached to the rear of it. He was telling me how quiet it was and how good it was which didn't tell me much, then he asked "do you wanna hear it?" Well hell yes, he wheeled it right out to the shop and hooked it up and let it run. This unit has a 2 cylinder V style compressor pump, a Lincoln motor, ASME certified tank, square D electrical boxes and a nice finish and craftsmanship to it. They have a heavy steel belt guard on the back shielding what appeared to be 2- ¾" heavy duty V belts. The pump is raised up off the base about 1.5 inches to allow air flow under the pump. This unit runs about 650 rpms and is less the 55db in noise level. When Matt cranked it up it ran very smooth and was unbelievably quiet. We were standing about 3 feet away discussing it while it was running full speed without raising our voices one bit. It pumped from 0-175 psi in 4 minutes. The unit comes with an electric moisture drain on the bottom, painted to any color you want.
The technical info. The tank is made in Illinois, they use a Lincoln pump, which has grease zerks on each end to maintain the bearing life. The pump is built overseas, Matt had no problem at all telling us that the pump was built offshore. He said they been using the same pump for 22 years and it's been proven and reliable. The parts come into there facility and they assemble and paint everything in house and ship out a completed unit. The pump has a cast iron body, cast iron head and jugs, cast iron rods with a bronze or brass (I forgot to ask) bushing in the piston end and a standard type rod bearing in the crank end. They stock all the parts for these units in house. The back of there warehouse was full of racks with parts for service needs. The unit carries a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty PROVIDED you buy and use there oil and air filters for the first 5 years. They want a paper trail to know that the unit has been maintained. Matt said anything in the first 5 years is covered, if the pump fails, they send a new one, if the motor fails they send a new one. He did say if a capacitor fails in the motor then we will send you that part. They help you diagnose it over the phone. Very easy.
Now, I didn't post this for a ******* contest. I've read bad online about this company but 99% of what I read is positive. I've read the same about other companies as well, Sanborn, champion and so on. There is negative everywhere about every company it is inevitable. I personally was blown away at the personalism that Matt offered and I'm strongly leaning towards there unit. At 2299 for the unit with the whisper. I think it would be hard to beat.

"At 2299 for the unit with the whisper. I think it would be hard to beat." You made your statement for Eaton, I commented. You don't own the thread and if I have a different point of view I will say so. When you put your virtual advertisement out there on the interwebs you don't have control over what people say about it.
