Indeed. While my house has 24” eaves the kitchen was bumped out 24” so the kitchen had no overhang and it would ice dam. We did a minor Reno in 2000 and extended that section of roof-to have a12” overhang, stopping the ice damming. The kitchen window on that wall had been replaced due to rot.
