RE: USPS Tracking Number 94001116990004XXXXXXXX

Current message from USPS:

"The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on May 10, 2016 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if/when available."

So in other words, you haven't shipped the item yet.
WHEN will the item be shipped? You were paid up front for the item. I want the item. It has now been 8 days since the item was purchased, and the item has NOT yet been shipped according to USPS message above.

There are about a dozen of us who ordered this item from you all on the same date, and we are all in communication with each other regarding the delay on shipment of the item.

Respond ASAP.
Thank you.

Are there any consequences in applying Evaporust on polished chrome?

Spin, I just put a dab of silver color auto touch up paint on the engravings on tools. Prevents rust later and not too noticeable then. If already rusty, go through evapo-rust first if chrome and then the touch of paint. While I like tools of course, even my very best are meant to be used as tools. And once they get used, they get scratched up anyhow, so I don't really care about engravings. But that is me. That is why used on ebay or anywhere is fine with me most of the time too - I don't need brand new or want to pay for it either when used and functional are 1/2 price or less. Some more nice tools you got there! :) - Paul

Thanks for all the links in this thread! I've enjoyed browsing the links and also looking at the sellers "other" items listed for sale.

Spn1025 don't worry about that S-K - my eyes were probably tired when I looked at it.

No, Evaporust won't touch chrome. I use it all the time on old ratchets and sockets.

It does leave a heavy black residue on some steels - some more than others. Most, but not all, the black can be removed with brushing and rinsing.

I'm curious, does it matter if you post the tracking number? I almost posted mine and didn't. I can't find any way to discover personal information from a tracking number, not even the address.

Mine ends in ---- 6029

I wish the guy would be honest and say, 'I screwed up and don't intend to ship these.' I would move on with life, mistakes happen; but I don't like the trickery of 'USPS lost it.'

Rick M, re: Felo Torx screwdrivers:

you may or may not be seeing what I see at this end.

if you read his response above you will see that he is obviously not being entirely truthful.

his "negative feedback" comments clearly show a pattern of not delivering goods as promised.

Spn1025, this Wizard actually seems to look better than the Indestro I just posted above:

I used Evaporust on an old pocket knife that had some minor collector value and after a few hours it came out with a jagged gouge across the blade. I don't know what happened, the Evaporust didn't eat the metal but maybe there was a filler material in there from the factory, I just don't know. So any $$ value was gone. I no longer use it on antique knives.

glad you grabbed that one instead.. funny thing about Ebay.... five minutes after you click "buy now" a better deal pops up.... and that was a damn good example.
it's a tiny unit, but they're real easy to bust open and clean out and re-oil. I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised.

Well, oil bath done..

Spn, saw that skilsaw box in the corner of the picture. Is that the worm drive or sidewinder?

If its the worm, how do you like it? I'm getting ready to buy that or the Makita Hypoid. Trying to understand though why the Skil is 200 dollars, and the Makita hypoid is only 150.

Nothing beats a Skill 77. They are absolute work horses and as robust as you could ever want.

BTW having made a living with both a 77 and the Makita, the Skill stomps it for longevity.

77 worm drive. Got it for $50 back when HD clearanced them. Haven't even used it yet lol. I have a cheap Skil that I've been using (might give it away) and last time I used my Bosch 18V (which worked great)

I think you should just flip it to me for 100 bucks and enjoy the 100% profit! :3gears:

Thanks for the additional info Paul and LXcam! Surprised they still command such a premium even though they're made in China now.

Yeah, in this case, it is more the matter of the classic Skil design, wherever it is made, that seems to command the premium. - Paul

I bet that speedmaster 1/2" ratchet is all I need to complete my in metal box 1/2" sae socket set. To bad I am short on funds :(

I bought it used and it came with a japan made crescent ratchet (fine tooth and of good quality) but it does have the correct extension and the correct breaker bar. I do not have a swivel either though but I am not sure if it came with one or not.

I wonder how good the ratchet is?

^ Speedmaster was a Montgomery Ward brand - possibly New Britain manufactured??? :headscrat

Spn1025, I saw that Speedmaster and a few others that looked good, but they were engraved too, so I skipped over them.

You really stole that one Pure. I have a bunch of Proto wrenches. I love them all. The Proto adjustables are also about the best ever I've found. Have a nice set of those from the 70's still in use regularly I got at a real auction long ago in the 80's. - Paul

Someone was selling them for 88 dollars. I was like well I really don't use SAE except on rare occasions of household repairs of like lawnmowers, or random old cars, so hell with it, I'll make an offer for 45 bucks, and to my shock, they accepted it.

This was the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/162066672315?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I saw those and know someone who wants a set, I should have made an offer like that. That's the same seller from whom I bought a bunch of Allen sockets and ratchet, wish I'd bought more before he ran out.

RE: PureLeaf's purchase of a very nice set of Proto wrenches ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/16206667231...49.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&rmvSB=true )

Note that when you click that link it shows the selling price was $88.99, NOT the $45.00 that PureLeaf actually paid for the item.
I've noticed this lately, and thought maybe I was imagining things, but it's true: Ebay changed this a month or so back so that the asking price is what you see when you check "sold" listings, not the price the item actually sold for, further misleading both Ebay buyers and sellers.

One more reason why Ebay "selling prices" in no way, shape or form are any reflection of anything that's happening in the real world.

They always seem to hide the prices on offers from what I've seen, so it doesn't surprise me it says it sold at full price or that they show anything at all..
