.... maybe those are his own listings... who knows?

certainly not "deals" by any means...

sorry for the absence.... busy with some other irons in the fire right now and the few times I've looked at Ebay since Friday I haven't seen much that was setting my hair on fire..... although I AM seeing a hell of a lot of ridiculously over-priced Craftsman wrench sets..... what's up with that?
all of a sudden the " VΛ " stuff is somehow "collectible" or "rare" or "vintage" ?!?!?!?! :wtf:

No not mine at all. They are a buddy of mine who is a tool dealer. If they were mine why would I not say "hey guys...here are some tools im selling!" Lol

And actually his prices are lower than Amazon, Tool Topia, etc. I was just sharing because they are USA made. I know your looking for deals but if your looking for price why don't you buy from Harbor Freight or Lowes?

Because you can find high quality Wright, SK, Proto, Snap on Etc at good deals on Ebay. Hence the purpose of the thread

Wow, those are great little rachets for this price. Very fine action, Sk tough. Head does seem big though in the non low profile size. I have one of these but in the low profile. - Paul

Yea, I really wish they were the low profile ones but for the price I couldn't pass it up. A guy at work has a set in 1/4-1/2.. Great ratchets. I'm waiting for a good discount at zoro and I'll pick up a couple of the Proto ones like these.

Yes MW, the Proto ones made by Facom in Italy are very nice. I just ended up getting a 3/8" and 1/2" Proto in a tool swap trade a couple weeks back. Very much like the Facom SK ones here. I wasn't planning on getting the Protos, but ended up doing it in the trade to make the trade work out. They are real nice rachets, certainly among the very top eschelon of rachets today, including Snap-On, Armstrong, or SK brands or any others. Especially for the price on those Protos. Recommended with the 30% off Zoro discount when they have those next time, probably on Cyber Monday as a few hour flash sale. - Paul

Which one is your favorite?

I really like the SK ratchets, although I'm not a big fan of using knurled handles for extended periods of time (blisters).

The Craftsman tri-wing (Taiwan) I've been using for years and has taken a lot of abuse still works like new.

The Wrights operate very smoothly. All of the Wilde are kind of stiff even after oiling them.

My least favorite are the 2 Fleets. They both feel like the internals are delicate. They also both have a bit of movement in them.

you're getting to have a pretty nice collection there, Spn1025

I notice you got a 3275 Indestro in there.

might want to consider one of the older open-gear model 77 Thorsen 1/2" drive models - I have one or two of the 1/2" drive, two of the 3/8" drive, and two or three (?) of the 1/4" drive models. the 1/2" drive is actually surprisingly smooth in spite of its coarse-gear design.
Indestro also made a similar model - 6070 (1/4") 6270 (3/8") and 6470 (1/2") but the Thorsen actually has a nicer action in my humble opinion. I believe Ganymede did a size comparison on them side-by-side here somewhere.

if you are considering any Stevens-Walden models (their later pear-head design, like the 3150 1/4" drive) avoid anything that's been altered or is missing either of the screws holding it together - they're some screwball sized thread for which no match can be found.

the Fleet you mentioned - is the the old pear-head design, or the later RHFT type?
I have a 1661 Penens (1/2" drive pear-head) - an oldie - and considering the low tooth count I found it amazingly smooth.

in that first photo (the 1/4" drive models) is that an Easco seventh down from the top?

yea that 1/4" is an Easco 71 1105, just came in a few days ago.

The Fleet's I have are both pear heads. 3/8" 1261 and 1/2" 1661. They do feel very smooth to use, but just something about them makes them feel delicate/fragile. The both have a bit of movement/wobble in the head.

I looked up the bottom one and it might be collectible? Ebay sales are all over the place.

According to Knipex,
If you're not the original purchaser of that particular tool, there is no warranty expressed / implied.
http://knipex-tools.com/us/disclaimer/lifetime-limited-warranty/

Rather interesting statement by Knipex,
"This warranty applies only to the original end-user that purchased the tool, and does not apply in any way to failures caused by misuse, abuse, alteration, accident, or tools worn out by use."

Both of them have a broken tip don't they? Unless u want to warranty them lol

^ what's so unusual about that warranty? it sounds perfectly reasonable to me. what sort of warranty is expected out of a set of snap-ring plier tips? or a drill bit? or an E-Z out? or a tap or die?

not necessarily "hot deal" but perhaps of interest to Spn1025 if he hasn't yet seen it. needs a bit of cleaning up:

* shipping costs may vary depending upon your geographic location *

Thorsen 89J 3/8" drive RHFT quick-release ratchet w/thumbwheel
(an odd duck - this is the one where two pins push the socket off the ratchet.)
used
$9.99 + $11.42 shipping now. 0 bids now. ends Fri. 06/17
OR $12.99 + $11.42 shipping "buy now"

I thought it looked familiar. I have a 71-1106 sitting here next to the keyboard, which looks the same from the top, but has a thumbwheel on the drive side.
Would I be correct in assuming the 71-1105 does not have the thumbwheel?
Got this one with a set of 1/4" drive Thorsen sockets and a mix of KAL and Thorsen extensions.
It's missing the detent ball, so it won't hold a socket. Wonder if a guy could find a kit for it of it it's just not worth messing around with?
Probably just be simpler to find another 77MC Thorsen and complete the set!

Thumb wheel on the bottom (which I'm not too crazy about). Here's the listing:

^ got one. No more low profile ones :(

Got mine today. Be ready to clean out the old dried up grease out of the ratchet before it will work right. Looked more like wax than grease. Works great now.
