Spn1025 - on the Kraeuter ratchet: I have no clue.
Kraeuter was part of S-K (?) or something along that line. Not clear on details.

That PROTO 1/4" drive socket set I mentioned up-thread went for $36 + $20 shipping. crazy cheap.

On those Barcalo wrenches, I would concur with the comment above - rough castings. Not uncommon on low-end US wrenches.

The S-K Frankenratchets usually go for pretty good money. Be interesting to see if it goes cheap this time of year, which would certainly support what ssdave was saying about Ebay tool sales during the summer.

There seem to be an abundance of Thorsen (US) socket sets being listed right now. Some of them are listed with wishful-thinking prices - if you are even remotely interested I'd suggest clicking "watch list" and just sit and wait and see if the price comes down.

Haven't spend a heck of a lot of time on Ebay lately - this is my busy season right now. Had to "dog proof" a deck this week, move more plants... stuff like that. Next week: re-paint deck railings.

HUSKY (US) 12-pc 1/4" drive SAE socket set w/metal box
3/16" - 1/2" sockets, ratchet, spinner, extension, box.
New Britain Machine manufactured before Husky went to Asia
listed as used. looks new.
$19.95 + $9.97 shipping "buy now"

I bought that. Need another 1/4" set like I need a hole in my head, but if you do a low bid on stuff ending when you happen to be around, every once in a while you get something nobody was watching. Probably that poor quality substitute for the one missing socket scared people off:lol:. Also, shipping was only $10 to my location. I actually missed you mentioning it earlier, found it on my own.

Keep in mind that we saw some Krauter labeled S-K socket sets a few months ago....and this does look like a classic S-K round head ratty.

Yes, the Krauter here was made by SK and they do look like this. They have an odd handle form to differentiate them from the normal SK, but otherwise same guts as similar SK of the era. I think I have one Krauter ratchet but lots of sockets. - Paul

It really is an odd design. Looks like it wouldn't be very comfortable to use.

Yes, that may be why Kraeuter brand did not surpass normal S*K brand in terms of popularity!! But in terms of function, same as SK otherwise. I don't think the other Kraeuter tools were any different from SK, except for the name on them or a groove or two on the sockets.

4C is right: Lots of great tool deals going on on ebay this summer. Everyone search on what you may want and you might get a deal if you can find it. I have taken another route: I like to follow for awhile good sellers that have been posted here in the past with deals. While I may not need what they currently have listed, in future weeks something may come up. And then I get them to *hold* on my items a couple weeks before paying to save on the shipping and send all at once. Some sellers will do that and some won't. I've followed 3 or 4 sellers last few months and later found a few things I could use not posted here this way. But I'm about out of sellers to follow with new stuff now so not buying much at all now. Summer break for everyone! :) :rocker:- Paul

Ugh, had to cancel all of my listings and set them all as a 10 day auction... going to Atlanta tomorrow. Apparently you can only set your listings to "away" or "on vacation" if you have a "store" set up in eBay.

Spin, give us a link to your listings so we can check them out.

I will send you offers well below whatever you think may be reasonable! - Paul

Has anyone had experience with those drill hog bits? I saw him months ago looking for socket adaptors, but since they look exactly like China made stuff and nothing turned up reliability online for reviews I passed.

lol is that a Channellock cordless drill in the last pic? I couldn't picture wearing that drill case on my belt.
I'd like to read the fine print on the "100% lifetime warranty " on the bits also.

Edit: From Amazon:
Seller Warranty Description : We guarantee our drill bits against breakage during the lifetime you own them. Send back any broken bits and we will replace them free of charge. A warranty card is included with purchase.

I'm thinking those other Krauter ratchets are missing the black handle.

Compare to this one:
