And your's appear to be Made in France.

Just came across this as well on Proto's website,
http://www.protoindustrial.com/en/i...10-Piece-Angled-Socket-Wrench-Set---6-Point-/

From my understanding, Proto's tools either comes from North America and Europe. Not aware of any coming from Taiwan, other than their current Blackhawk line.

Best thing to do as far as the eBay Sellers, is to send an inquiry on the COO.

Those wrenches do look pretty though, there's a lot we can do nowadays with a flex ratchet. However, I'm pretty sure it'd be far safer to use put a pipe on the other end for greater leverage.

They were originally all France Facom (and branded to others) but since Stanley bought them out they went overseas (I believe Taiwan) and have appeared under a number of Stanley brands. Quality is excellent though.

I wasn't aware of it, but it seems PureLeaf is right with the Czech Republic for the angled wrenches (honestly, I thought they were Taiwan). At least, Grainger says Czech Republic for a similar SAE set (sorry, somehow the link does not work here, but you can search for Facom angled wrench on Grainger and they indicate COO for their products).

Interesting if this is true. Wera has moved a lot of their production to the Czech Republic, and it seems the quality is very good. And beer from the Czech Republic is indeed a gold standard (which is not surprising, given that they have the highest beer consumption per capita in the world https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_beer_consumption_per_capita). Ok sorry for drifting away...

By the way, the new Facom/Proto angled wrenches in the links that were posted seem to be 6-point, whereas my older Facom are 12-point (I personally prefer 6-point).

My question: Does someone know if the Czech Rep. production plant for Wera and the one for these angled wrenches for Facom/Proto are related or the same? Maybe SD from Ultgar knows?

Based upon those items being sold, it looks like that guy just finds cheap deals on amazon/ebay and resells stuff at higher prices... Wouldn't surprise me if he's a GJ member...

Hi, PureLeaf, you nailed it (at least in part). The Gedore are mine (I am not hiding it because I am using my first name on both platforms), and yes, six weeks ago or so I found a whole bunch of "2 left" deals on Amazon, and I bought many of them but also posted a few on the Amazon thread. I'm afraid I got addicted of buying tools. I bought two because as you know, if you just buy one, the price goes up on Amazon, anyways. It is all random stuff from Wiha, Knipex, Gedore, Stahlwille, Facom, but most of it are tools that are not used by a lot of people, such as insulated sockets, torque wrench inserts, etc. In some occasions I resell both because I figure out that I really can´t justify the expense.

If anybody here on the forum sees anything on ebay under my name, just send me a message through ebay (not garage board, I don´t check my messages regularly) and I can lower the price. Don´t expect miracles because I don´t want to take a loss, either. For example, the Gedore 8 piece open end metric wrench set is basically what I paid, if I include the ebay fees of 10% (value fee) and paypal (3%).

Ok, one thing I consider important: I don´t buy and resell tools other people have posted in any deals thread on garage board. Of course, I cannot exclude that I found a deal on Amazon that someone else saw as well, but my principle is that once I see it on garage board (and I scan the hot deals section regularly), I wouldn´t resell it.

FYI, I personally don't care if you resell deals I post, especially the '2 left' deals. Sometimes I buy 2 left deals and sell one (or both). I'm sure you'll use the money to buy more tools or other things you need, what's the difference. I can't 'stop' you from doing it so I'm not going to waste mental energy worrying about it, go for it, do what you want.

I would post ebay deals but usually if I'm looking on ebay, I'm looking to buy. And I feel like auctions shouldn't really count as "deals" because no one knows the price until it sells. A few times I've been watching an auction then it gets posted here and bidding goes up, any chance of a deal is spoiled.

I have Examples that are 6 point both ends and 6 point on the long and 12 on the short (my French ones) they have a different series number for each type.

I don't recall posting this, but here it is,
Warm Deal---Handle appears to be knurled and does not contain any rubberized / plasti-grip. Seller "may" have removed them--perhaps new old stock

Can't find this specific model (without grip) in Gedore's current catalog
A similar model # does exist in Gedore's Catalog, but comes with a coated rubberized grip

Gedore Round pliers 6 5/16in Telephone pliers 8132-160 NEW Round-nose pliers
$14.59 (Includes Shipping Worldwide)--comes from Germany

I see this happen WAY too much.

Some people completely ruin good deals by bidding really high, really early. Rookies...

I've never seen or got a good deal on eBay by being in a bidding war with someone from the beginning of an auction.

She accepted a counter-counter offer of $30 on the 10-994 this morning.

http://m.ebay.com/itm/222284103436

Accepted mine at $27 just now.

Dadgum, I had offered $30 earlier today and she accepted it. I thought about going lower but didn't. :lol_hitti

Nice. She rejected my original offer of $26.

They just accepted my $25 offer. I probably didn't need another ratchet, but looks like that could come in handy.

IMHO, it's not a deal unless you need most (or all) of them to complete an existing set you already own. If you are planning on doing the opposite and filling in the missing ones, you will be spending far more time and money than it would have cost to just buy a complete set from the start. Look at it this way: this set, as it is, is missing 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, and 19. I find that my car maintenance is comprised mostly of these exact sizes, 10 and 12 in particular. With so many of these key sizes absent, it is nearly useless.

You have a very valid point
These wrenches would be great for show or simply filling in the pieces rather than seeing any actual use. I have the 17mm one as a filler, and its not to be confused with Williams Supercombo. These Supertorque wrenches do not have the characteristics groove / notch seen in the Supercombo wrenches. Although the quality does stand out, I built a secondary set comprising of USA-made metric wrenches comprising of one wrench of each known brand. It gave me the ability to test out each design and quality.

I favor the Proto wrenches a lot, followed by Armstrong. I tried a WrightGrip wrench as well, but I think the Proto wrenches are easy to find on eBay and are the best overall in terms of price and quality.

Are SK locking extensions any good?
Those appear to be NOS pre-Ideal SK. They look to be identical to my Wright locking heads, just with a roll pin holding an SK extension to it instead of a set screw.

That would be a pretty good deal even if you just wanted the head. Knock the roll pin out, tap the hole through the locking head and add a recessed allen head set screw and you could put it on any extension you want.

EDIT:
Or just spend the $5 difference for the real thing :lol_hitti:

Checked tracking and it said mine was delivered today, but it isn't in my mailbox. If it doesn't show up tomorrow I'll have to file a claim.

That's weird. Hopefully it works out for you. Mine arrived yesterday. It's a really nice ratchet and the extra length makes it seem like it will be more useful than the usual 1/4" jobs. I'm looking forward to using it. One thing I noticed was that the On/Off stamped into the head of the larger versions isn't present on this guy.

My 1/4" Armstrong ratchet showed up yesterday. It was a little rougher than expected, so I took it apart to add some lube. There was a decent amount of metal bits floating around in there. I cleaned it up well and added some good lube. It is very smooth now.

so, ebay has these in 1/4" and 3/8" (which is linked here).

wrighttool.com doesn't seem to have either of those in the online catalogue.

i looked because i was looking for a 1/2" drive version, which amazon doesn't seem to list . . . . do you know if wright makes it in 1/2"?
I don't. I stumbled onto my 1/4" & 3/8" accidentally on eBay.

It does appear Proto offers them in 1/2" drive though:

Do you use the set screw on the side with the detent ball or on one of the flat sides? I'm worried that the set screw would damage the chrome on my extensions. It's a cool idea though and I'm definitely interested. Full sets of locking extensions aren't cheap, and really seem kind of redundant when you already have the same lengths in regular and wobble.

Mine is tightened to a flat, and has left a circular surface mark that should buff out, but no actual damage. I'm sure you could find some sort of thin material to put inside to keep the pressure on without having it run down on the head.

Happened to me last week, asked around and one of my neighbors showed up with it

I asked my mail lady about it yesterday. They tracked it to the neighbors house, she took it out of the mailbox today and delivered it to me. Nice little ratchet.
