No.. the pair I got is perfect other than the Tekton name and part number being buzzed off.
Same with the needle-nose. Both of them look fine other than no manufacturer's markings.

Looks/Sounds good, Think I'll grab at least the long side cutters.
I'd normally get all 3, but still trying to watch my money, hoping to move.
thank You for taking the time to reply and up-load the pictures!

I don't think they've got a shortage of those pliers. It looks to me like that Ebay seller buys "factory seconds" and other discontinued items from Tekton (and other tool companies) in lots.
If you look at the other items they've got listed, it's apparent they're a clearing house for close-out stuff.

Ordinarily I tend to avoid "made in China", but Tekton gets rave reviews here from most members, and I've previously dealt with that seller and they seem to be prompt with shipping.

The bottom line on those is that for $10 bucks delivered, you can't even get close. The 11-inch needle-nose model is $16 bucks at Walmart, plus the cost of your time and gas to drive there and buy it.
If I was going to buy these in Proamerica from Bowers Tool out of Dallas, they'd be $34 delivered ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-Americ...liers-Straight-MADE-IN-USA-Plier/141408409086 )

The seller also has a mess of close-out Tekton locking pliers (aka "Vise-Grip" type pliers) as well, but I haven't been able to ferret out any feedback on them here from any members. I'll probably grab a set of them anyway, as I'm trying to fill up a tool box for my girlfriend's son, so I'm trying to work within a reasonable budget.

I just put in an order for that 10-inch curved jaw model - $12.07 to me delivered because i have to pay sales tax. I'll let you know how they look when they arrive - most of the orders from this outfit are only taking two days, not 7 as noted on the Ebay "purchase history" page:

I see the Long side cutters on Amazon too, same price, Wonder if it's the same seller. Don't mention factory seconds though.

EDIT Yes it does too.
You will be shocked at the value and quality for the price! The reason for this being is these are name-brand pliers but factory seconds. The brand name and serial number have been ground off to void the lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. The manufacturer holds themselves to the highest and most exacting standards. These may have slight imperfections in either the handle cushion or the original packaging might have been damaged but this DOES NOT effect the quality and workmanship of the item. We guarantee that you will not be disappointed in these top-quality pliers!

^ Wouldn't surprise me a bit that they're using multiple venues to peddle their wares. I would too if I had that much stuff to unload.

When you buy close-outs and distressed inventories, you get it ALL - you don't get to cherry-pick the lot. Those are always "all or none" deals. I did lots of them both buying and selling.

You end up with a 60-foot trailer of stuff and you gotta scramble to get rid of it, because you've got another trailer full of stuff on the way.

They've probably got 'em on "Facebook" and "OfferUp" as well.

That seller's in Lincoln, Nebraska. So far so good. Two-day shipping to me.

Some of us got Knipex for very great price from Sears by playing SYW points but sadly that ship has sailed. Really missed getting stuffs for next to nothing...

Yeah, I wish I could buy a trailer load of stuff and sell it, I don't hardly have anywhere to work here as it is, Still trying to save to move,
Market is hard here, (rental) I can't buy at this point (that ship has sailed)
Oil/Gas industry really jacked up the rental prices, and made it slim pickings.
I know people are just trying to work, and I would probably work in the Industry if I still could,
mention anything on Facebook, Right way "You have Hate" for the oil and gas workers,
I don't "Hate" anyone. But, the Industry has made it hard for people in the area that don't have a lot of money.
Looks like it's slowed down some now, maybe I can score something reasonable?
I was looking to buy a house in 2013, but ended up getting sick, had to take My SS early.

Anyways, sorry to go off. :(

I’d love if NWS, knipex or other quality European tools can be found on the cheap like these tekton
That's for sure!!

Hang in there and stay positive and look for a break. Even if it might be hard to pull off, try to move some place cheaper to live if you get the opportunity. There are some places in the country that are good values -- if you google affordable places to retire you can find them.

I know buddy, I'll try. I mean, I could move into an affordable High Rise,
But if that's the case, I may as well just Pass away.
I have all my tools, and woodworking tools, just sitting down there.
I had hoped to find something with a decent garage,
This place has an OK basement, But I have trouble with the steps, also Mice are getting in there, and I think they brought the Fleas I had real bad trouble with this summer, (The fleas are still down there, she said, they won't live with out something to feed on, I said YEAH, THE DAMN MICE!) (But she just blows me off) and even a mouse (One time only thankfully) had gotten into my silverware drawer.
The landlord don't want to do nothing about it.
She said she called an exterminator, and they said "all I could do was set traps" I think she is lying, when would an exterminator say they couldn't do anything. (They are there to make money,)
Besides, One would have to see where the mice are getting in,
I've just became fed up with the place.
Looks like the Oil and gas "May" be slowing down, but I'm not sure.
I've been nothing but depressed shortly after moving here.
My old place Had a Better work area, but I had too move,
Place was broken into twice,
If you would forget, and go upstairs for 10 minuets, and leave the garage door open for 10 minuets, something was stolen.
(Then they are talking about building some kind of Plastic plant, but the EPA is fighting them, But if that goes through, the rental market will even get more expensive)
(Sorry, I won't go off topic "ranting" about it anymore in this thread)
Thank you for you encouragement!!

edit, The trouble with moving to a different area, Is I have to have My brother come from out of state as it is to help me move, So it's hard to go too far as then you can't make quick trips with the car for moving little stuff, A day a a time (I say that, but it still gets depressing) I am battling smoking again and everything.
Get too Darn depressed when I quit, And I know better.(Shouldn't be smoking!!!)

Sorry, I know this Is WAY OT!
I won't keep on about it here.

Ask your brother if he will make the time to help if you find a place. You have to give notice where you are so your brother will have advance notice. You have years ahead of you and it seems like you would enjoy them more in a different location where your money would go further and maybe you could have a garage/shop. It’s good to have a goal to work towards and look forward to.

Well. I have nothing keeping me here, Like I said though, It's just harder to move too far, because you have travel just to look at it, and travel home, then Like I said, It's harder to make short trips to bring smaller stuff in the car, Like before My brother gets here.
My brother can only come here about 5 or maybe 6 days, cause of work.
I'd be OK with something maybe an hour or so away though, because, yes, it does seem like the further away from Ohio Valley you get, some places are cheaper.
I want to stay in Ohio though, I can get medical assistance from Ohio, But I made just a few dollars too much in WV when I lived there, a "Big" $20.00 cost of living knocked my WV medical assistance.
I considered Oklahoma, as I have family there, but when I called the state in Oklahoma, They didn't want to be bothered one bit helping me,
and Acted sort of smart, and said. "well you just have to move here, then apply"
It gets discouraging some times.

That's the standard price, don't use Amazon as a price benchmark (or rather, use more than Amazon).

pliers

I've posted most of these here before, but since yet another "pliers" thread has popped up in the tools forum, I'm taking the liberty of re-posting these.
The 11-inch models do not appear to have any flaws that I can see.
I have not purchased the linemans pliers or diagonal cutters, as I already own multiples of both in Wilde and Proamerica.
I ordered both the 10-inch curved-jaw and the last pair of the 10-inch straight-jaw locking pliers for the boy, and they appear to be very well made. He hasn't even gotten them yet, as they're still at his mother's house waiting to be picked up.
Seller is great to do business with and (as can be seen from the order on the 3712 locking pliers) super fast on shipping.

Four.cycle, thanks for sharing. This seller also sends discounts on items you put on your watch list.

Henricogolfer is referring to the seller offering the pliers I have listed in the post just above.

I have all of the items in that post on my watch list, and just received emails from the seller offering the following discounts on these items:

Tekton 3706 7 Inch Curved Jaw Locking Pliers
was $9.49
offer: $9.02
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223873012557

==

Tekton ("seconds") 8" Linemans Pliers Heavy Duty Side Wire Cutter
was $8.95
offer: $8.50
https://www.ebay.com/itm/222763677479

==

TEKTON 1480 1/4" drive 72-tooth ratchet
was $16.95
offer: $16.10
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223896558474

==

TEKTON 30123 High Strength 16oz Jacketed Fiberglass Claw Hammer Impact Resistant
was $12.89
offer $12.25
https://www.ebay.com/itm/324056734413

* The seller may or may not offer the same discounts to other prospective buyers - I do not know what their policy is on that sort of thing.

It doesn't cost anything to put an item on your watch list.

I just made an offer of $150 for this Stabila Jamber set:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/164121841349

The offer was accepted immediately, so I assume the auction was set up to automatically accept an offer as low as $150. You might try offering less if you want to gamble.

Only one left, so don't delay if you want it.
