Electric right angle die grinder?

For my money, the 90 degree die grinder is tough to beat for running 2" (or 3") 3M ROLOC sanding discs and/or nonwoven ScotchBrite discs for quick deburring, cleaning weld haze, weld prep, etc. What I love about the ~1/2HP varieties (in the 90 degree iterations):

Super compact
Enough balls for running 2" discs all day long
Variable speed up to ~20k/min
Super ergonomic
(Straight die grinders are terrible for running discs)

I don't have a good compressor setup at home, thus I can't really run one.

I got one of the Milwaukee M12 FUEL #2485-20 cordless right angle die grinders. So far it's fine. I mean that as literally as possible. It's variable speed, has decent power, but it absolutely devours batteries like no other cordless tool I've ever used (I'm running the 4.0 AH M12 batteries).

So, I'd love to find a 120V 90 degree variable speed die grinder (1/4") collet.

Just about every big tool brand makes several varieties of the straight ones, but (seemingly) nobody offers a right angle one.

Anybody know of one? or an effective work-around?

I think the closest you're going to get right now is something like a Foredom or Dumore flexible shaft grinder with a right angle attachment. But that's like a $500 investment, and isn't truly portable since you're lugging around the motor drive.

I know you said right angle but for corded it’s a select few of straight die grinders. I own a Dewalt one, while it’s big it does get the job done and rolocs stay on it permanently.

Say a bit of messin around but what if you made up an AC adapter for your M12?
Seems to me, remember seeing in past years a couple companies like B&D make adapters back when the batteries were meh. Then you can keep using your present tooling.

it doesn´t have a collet though, but you can thread a Roloc pad on:

9000 - 19000 rpm

Looks like the PFERD grinder (which has a 1/4"-20tpi male, 9-20k/min).
Made in Germany :rocker:

Both seem like good suiters. Still though, doesn't check all the boxes (which is important considering the ~$450 tag)

The idea of a battery pack shaped power converter is an interesting one. I don't know enough about how the inner electronicals work on the Lithium tools in order to rig one up proper... I think.

For $500 I would start looking around for a decent used compressor. Shouldn't be too hard to find one in the San Diego area.
