Working on a shed, will have power (while thread about it).

Would like to have some sort of remote backup lighting for when the power goes out. Maybe a light outside the door and one inside.

Edit: light should come on when power goes out.

Not looking for the world's cheapest no name solution, but also not looking to spend hundreds on commercial fixtures.

Battery powered lantern?
Flashlight?

I'm looking for a wired solution that comes on when the power drops.

Lithonia has some remote heads that would work, cheap enough too, looking for a controller/battery now.

There are some flashlights that plug in and turn on automatically when they lose power.
Also, cheap "EXIT" signs with lighting would work.

I just saw some 12v LED bulbs with screw bases. No name Chinese, but honestly checks all my boxes (even has a remote).

I could use a cheap porch fixture and a screw base inside.

12v Edison screw base are RV bulbs.
You could build a battery box with a relay AC powered so it comes on if the power goes out

This may be way too simple of a solution for Garage Journal, but if it were my shed and I wanted emergency lighting inside and outside, I would use something like this inside:

or this:

And since it's remote capable, I would use it to run one of these outside:

You need a box with 120 volts for the inside and a low voltage cable run from there to the outside fixture location.

Ouch on the price, but that's exactly what I want. Found the remote lights earlier, just had not found the main box yet

Maybe something simple like a standard lightbulb with a battery?

Thank you!

This appears to be the name brand version of something I posted above. Much more comfortable have a GE branded device plugged in 100% of the time then some random brand.
