Good idea but this is no where near $1 a quart at Costco. We can keep up with posts of rebates as well. Thanks.

Advance Auto has been clearencing Castrol Edge EP, its in a gold bottle/jug. If it shows the store has it online, and you don't see it out. They may have it in back. My local store had it in back. And the topper, they have a rebate going on. I paid $10.45 a jug, got a $10 rebate on each jug.

Picked up two stroke oil by the gallon yesterday 5 cents. After my purchase they wanted to know if there was any left on the shelf. I'm assuming they pulled them. Pennzoil marine 2 stroke

About 6 years ago I scored a lot of engine oil for $1 quart at Advance Auto Parts. I've now used most of it and will need more. I noted this sale at Costco, but I'm not a member and they're not local. Why don't we keep this thread running specifically for motor oil sales?

Costco Oil
If I remember correctly, I think they were actually, less than a dollar a quart, like .25 cents

It's marked down at the stores. Online usually showed the normal retail price.Castrol Edge EP.png
Thanks!

Picked up the two jugs the store had for clearance price, plus 2 quarts for about $3 each. Wish those were priced better but needed them for the full 6-quart changes.

Can you link to the rebate?

I'm not seeing this online in my local area. But noted above one needs to visit the store, which I'll do this afternoon.

I'll stay tuned for other options as I don't yet need the oil but will by mid-year.

Here's a link to the rebate page. One word of warning. After I submitted, I received an email about an issue with my rebate. I had to email a picture of my actual receipt.

Thanks. I'm only seeing Edge, Edge High Mileage, and GTX High Mileage. I don't think the Edge Extended Performance will qualify. Unless I'm missing something...?

Just noticed last night (1/24/2024) that Meijer in Indy marked down their house brand oils 25%. YMMV, etc.

It's Warren Distributing juice, same as every other house brand oil, and it's well-known to be very good stuff.

I've only used the Costco synthetic slippery stuff (also Warren) for several years. If they sell the oil weight you need, you just can't beat the deal, even though the price has crept up over the last few years. Ten quarts of synthetic for $39 or so is still pretty phenomenal, and it goes on sale for $5 or so off once or twice a year.

Farm & Fleet used to have the best deal on their house brand (Citgo supplied), but it shot up last year. Not too long ago Black Friday was $1.50/quart or $1.69/quart on regular sales for dino oil.

Yes, Kirkland. I was in a Costco yesterday, the in store price on 10 quarts of full synthetic was $30.99. I think it’s a great deal, my local Napa is up to $34.99 for a 5 quart container of full synthetic 5W-20.

They clearanced the gold Castrol around here a couple months or so ago. It went fast. I snagged a couple jugs.

Not a member so I have to get from online but I see they have a 12 pack (quarts 5w30 synthetic) for $49.99 which is pretty damn good at $4.17 per quart but kills me with shipping at $18.17.

I refuse to pay more than $3 for a quart of oil . I always check out the clearance sections wherever I go. I'm not picky. As long as it meets the specs I need and is a brand I've heard of I use it.

My garage looks like the oil section at Walmart.

sold out.
Sad I missed that one. My new car takes 0-20. I checked price at jiffy lube for an oil change on that car. $120. I couldn't believe it. I can do the change easily under $50. I know they gotta make a profit but geez.

On Walmart.com 5-Qt jugs of Mobile 1 are showing as a 6 pack for $27.97. It has to be a mistake because the is normal price for one bottle.

I've placed the order online for pickup and showed the picture and was able to get it at this price once in the past. I just tried again last week and the employee refused to honor 6 for that price.

Great idea for a dedicated thread!

@RickfromPA: I don't see an option for anything other than a single bottle at WM. Is there an item number for the "pack of 6?"

I hate I missed this one. Would have bought all they had with or without rebate. Hopefully something else will soon pop up.

Yes, they have to pay their employees, employee taxes, rent or mortgage, utilities, liability insurance, and make a profit since someone took a risk and invested a bunch of money to open the franchise.

So what? Let the unskilled and lazy go there. For the $70 to $90 for a half hour of my time I'll do it myself and know some idiot didn't screw up my cars. Two of them have free dealer oil changes but I still do them myself.
