We have not added any new stores yet. Hopefully soon. You can always ask the store manager to carry our product or special order it from either the paint dept or pro desk.

I am thinking they will start expanding soon. Sales have been going very well. They are reordering weekly. We will have a new contact at corporate very soon, the buyer we had has taken a new position, hopefully the person that takes over her job will be just as excited about our product! Time will tell....

I have looked and did not see it...call me at the office and I can help you. I will be here until 4 pm est (800-841-5580). After that, call my cell, anyone at the office or the answering service will give the number to you. Not sure posting it here is going to be a good idea, Thanks.

Thanks Christine - I was hoping to show you some photos, so I sent them in a private message on this forum, instead of e-mail. Hopefully that will work! Thankyou!

Finally got a day off work and planned on applying epoxy coat to my railed floor but when I opened the bucket the mixing tool was not in it. Not too happy since it will be at least a month before I have another day to do it. Are there any other ways to mix it?

from the picture online, the mixing tool looks like a standard mixing tool that I think you can get at Lowes or HD. A dedicated paint store should have them too.

Squeegee question...

What kind of squeegee is everyone getting in their Lowe's kit? Is it serrated or linear?

I've put down 100% solids epoxy before, and I am used to a serrated squeegee - where the size of the serrations actually determine the thickness/coverage of the product. The Epoxy-Coat kit that I bought today at Lowes has a non-serrated squeegee in it. It is also much narrower than I am used to.

As a matter of fact, it is actually an ikea bathroom shower squeegee identical to the one pictured here...
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80159524 (it has an ikea sticker and bar code on it).

Since it isn't serrated, won't I just be dragging the puddle around the floor? Or is the idea for the product to escape around the sides of it (thus the narrow squeegee).

The squeegee in the kit is 9 inch, non serrated. The idea of the squeegee is to spread the material out into the section you are working, You will use the roller to make the epoxy even.

The only time I am able to go to lowes is on the weekend or in the evenings after your office is closed. When I went to lowes this past weekend the girl I spoke with wasn't able to find epoxy-coat in their system and the number the answering service gave her just kept ringing. Is there anyway you could point me in the right direction so I can tell her where to find your product in her system? I'm wanting to order the full kit smoke blue if that makes a difference. I also was wondering if you had to go with your standard flakes or if it was possible to get the 3 color custom from lowes.

Step by step instructions for ordering would be great that could be printed and handed to someone at any Lowes! I might be able to run to one during lunch but if not, something to help the process would be nice and could save a good bit of aggrevation!

I got a sample on saturday of beige with beige blend flakes and really like it, is that something that can be special ordered from Lowes?

Christine,
Can you comment on the prices that are available in the stores or possibly estimated price ranges? I heard they were considerably cheaper at the stores. Is there any truth to this? Any chance New England stores have it available yet?

I spoke with earlier today, I personally gave you my cell # and vendor #. Please make sure they call me. My phone will never ring and ring...it goes to voicemail. Most people on this forum can attest to the fact that I always answer my calls, if I am busy or on the phone, I do call right back.
On a funny note, I am on the phone so much that my 7 yr old daughter knows more about epoxy than most grown ups.

You can special order any color with flake blend from any Lowe's. We are still a test product for them, so they still will have a hard time finding us. If I am busy at the office one of the other girls can walk the store through the process. We need to have the store call us directly to give them the info. It usually is a fairly easy process. let me know if I can help more.

No stores in your area yet. The special order prices are $249.95, this includes shipping.

Placing a special order at Lowe's
Have the store call me directly. The office number is 800-841-5580 we are in 9-5 M-F. After hours my cell phone is 586-344-3469. I am almost always available, if I cannot answer the phone, I always call back.

The store will need to know:
Vendor # 21374
Item # 89115 (this is a generic number used mostly by Rustoleum)
Part # call me
Pricing call me
The store will also need to know what color basecoat and flake colors you would like.
Please feel free to call me if you need further help. If I am not available, the other girls can usually help.

Thanks for the info Christine. I have a few more for you if you don't mind.

What benifits do the clear coat kits provide? Is this used to achieve the additional UV protection? How much does the addition of the clear coat affect the slip resistance?

The controled joints on my floor are very small cracks. Can i just coat over these? their almost too small to fill with any type of sealant.

My floor is also reinforced with fiberglass. Some of the fibers protrude. Should i burn these off with a torch? if so, before or after clean and prep?

Sorry for the long winded questions. Thanks again for your prompt reply.

Hi Dave,
The clear is used in specific situations. If you do a heavy broadcast of flake, for instance. Most situations do not require a clear coat. if you need UV resistance we have a polyurea that is better suited to that issue.
You can add the non-skid to any coating.
I would recommend filling any control joints with an acrylic caulk if you want a seamless floor. If you would like to leave the control joints there, you can just paint down into them for color continuity throughout the floor.
For the fiberglass issue, you must burn the fibers down after the floor has been profiled.

Christine,
Thanks again for the answers to my questions. So the clear coat won't give me any real "advantages" in a normal installation?

Doesn't the aluminum oxide provide the non-skid? which is provided in the "kits"?

I got my kits last week and applied it over the weekend. The DVD was very helpful as were the instructions, but felt that the importance of the preparation was not stated in the same way the person on the phone made it out to me, just my only feedback on that. Overall the process was very easy with two people.

I will post up some pictures when I get them uploaded, so far I am glad I went with this product.

Hi Christine, the closest store to me in NY is Ogdensburg. Any chance they'll start stocking it ? I can think of several people in my local area who are interested in this product and would purchase from this Lowes location which is about an hour from here. I know Watertown NY carries it but that's another hour which would make 4 hours driving time total. I need mine for July at the latest. Thanks !

You can special order it from any store. I can help walk you through that process. Normally it is pretty painless. You can also tell the store manager you want them to carry our product and that there are people to buy it. From there the store manager can request corporate to carry our product.

If they special order it will I have to pay the $249.95 price (like getting custom paint) or the regular price ?

If I can convince the manager to request corporate to carry it roughly how long would it take to arrive in that location ? Thanks.

EDIT: Also, found a Lowes in range that supposedly has it but the guy on the phone says it comes in a 15x12 inch box, not a pail like pics in this thread. Box says 2 gallons/500sq ft coverage. Could this be correct ? I gave him the Lowes part # and he matched it in his system ?????

Geez, Washington state seems to be the last to get anything.

I'm planning on going to the Bellingham Lowes next time in the area (as I'm from Canada, and have no other way of getting Epoxy Coat up here). I'll definately be asking the store manager to call Christine and special order it for me if not carry it full time.

He's not looking at the right product. The full kit of Epoxy Coat contains one, two-gallon bucket of Part A (colored part) and one, one-gallon bucket of Part B (hardener I'll asssume). It also has a roller cover, a paint mixer, a quart of muriatic acid, color chips, a squeegee, and a few other small items. No way that all fits in a 15x12 box. He's looking at another brand, probably Rustoleum.

That is not our product. We only supply our kits in a 6 gallon bucket. He is using a generic number in the computer and looking up a rustoleum product.
Good looking out csp!!

Christine, I ordered a full kit of EC this afternoon..after reading this thread I took a trip to Lowes and they are selling the exact kit for $111 cheaper then I paid off of the EC website.

For 1 full kit off your site it was a total of $322 w/shipping. From Lowes it is $211 w/tax. I would like to use your product but I dont want to pay $111 for no reason. Please advise.

We don't have any stocking stores in WA. You can either place a special order or order directly from me. Either way, call me at the office and we can discuss it.
