Christine, I ordered a full kit of EC this afternoon..after reading this thread I took a trip to Lowes and they are selling the exact kit for $111 cheaper then I paid off of the EC website.

For 1 full kit off your site it was a total of $322 w/shipping. From Lowes it is $211 w/tax. I would like to use your product but I dont want to pay $111 for no reason. Please advise.

Call me at the office.

Christine,

I was the one ordering from Lowes last night in Texas. Thanks so much for helping them to place the order. I'll be using it in a couple of weeks on our brand new home, and will post pictures once completed.

Christine,
Within the next few weeks I want to epoxy my garage floor but my Lowes does not carry your produce. I went as far to give them the item numbers but they as other Lowes were not able to locate epoxy coat by name. I have 920sqft I need to cover and that the present time it is likely too humid for it to dry over a short weekend. If you could help me walk my Lowes through the order process I would be grateful. Let me know what I need to do next.

Ok I answered my own question, I called a Lowes store in Scranton PA that is on the list. They have it in stock for $194 for the full kit without clear. (clear coat has to be special ordered) Looks like the price went up from the introductory price of $164.

Hey RugarLady (Christine),
I was looking at the journal for feedback on your product and stumbled across your signature name. I believe I spoke with you this morning and ordered a kit being shipped to downtown Chicago. I didn't know you were on here. LOL

Yes, looks like most of the stores raised the price. Call me directly for the clear.

I'm moving into my new house and have a 32x32 shop out back that has a relatively nice floor but I would like to coat it once and be done with it. It looks like I will need two full kits for this shop.

I need to ask (so I don't have to read 300 posts to find the answer) -

Are the flakes just for decoration? I can really do without the flakes unless they are required..

Anti-Skid I would like to use this but don't want the floor to be rough or dull either. Possible with your product?

Since I do a fair bit of chassis fabrication - How well does it hold up to welding spatter?

I see I can buy online from your website or possibly from Lowes. I live in the Minneapolis / St. Paul Minnesota area - Do they carry your product here?

If I buy direct - do I pay Sales Tax?

Thanks for answering my questions - I appreciate it a lot...

Regards - Randy

500 hits if you search on FLAKES - here you go;
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/search.php?searchid=5396803

The question about anti-skid was relevant only to her product and I already looked and read a number of posts.

The question about holding up to welding spatter was again only relevant to her product and I did not see anything in an hour of reading that spoke to the durability of Epoxy-coat in regard to welding.

I also did not see if Epoxy-Coat was carried by Lowes in my area.. Funny - when I called one of the local Lowes and asked, the guy asked me if I did a search on their Website because he had never heard of it.

In any event - they're all simple questions that I would like answers to. Thanks for suggesting the search engine.

Well I don't work for Epoxy-Coat, but I do have it so I will throw some info out for you.

The flakes work as a slight anti skid, but don't really do much but give the floor more character and hides flaws better. Anti skid is broadcast as thin or thick as you want. There is plenty sent with the kits, so it's up to you. Use what you want. It will be rougher than a smooth floor...think about it. It will also disrupt the sheer glossy look of it. The rest is just an opinionated perception.

Epoxy is Epoxy is Epoxy when it comes to welding. This has been covered many times. Welding spatter will burn\melt through it. How much or how little is based on many variable factors. It's not recommended for medium to heavy welding.

Thanks Moto... I would expect that any coating would be damaged by welding and I am careful with the slag for the most part.
The flakes sound pretty much like what I had thought. I may just leave them out. The AntiSkid is important to me as I live in an area where snow/water are a way of life for more than half the year.

Call me at the office and we can discuss in depth what will work best for you. I can also send you samples of all the different sizes of non skid.

Christine,
Just wanted to say thank you for helping Steve the Asst Store Manager of Lowes in Bangor, ME order the Epoxy-coat today. I have been following on this forum for a bit and finally decided to get in and place my order today. Steve was very happy to find a new product he could order and was also interested in doing some research on the Epoxy-coat so he could be knowledgeable enough about it to recommend it to others.

Thanks for the order, I am sending new info packets to some of the stores that have been placing special orders so they have more info at their fingertips. Lowe's has had me very busy. We should have our products on their website soon!! woo hoo (the only downside is that I have been really busy and have not been on GJ much!)

Just a little disappointed I just found out my order was held up because there are no more glow green flakes and now there are just glow blue in the small size. I had planned to do the floor this weekend but I guess now that will be next. I have decided to go with the glow blue and try it out.

1) Is it available at Maryland Lowe's stores? If so, which ones?
2) Will Lowe's install? Or do you know of quality installers in Maryland?

I'm in the Clarksburg/Germantown area. Let me know if you need more info in my location.

I also need to see this stuff..to figure out colors I want to do.

Hello all, I am wondering if any one has recently ordered full kit from lowes and have a few questions for you. Does the full kit come with all the additional items that you would get if you ordered off of epoxy coats main site? (I am looking at the full kit with clear which the sure has for $495) Will I still ned to order the clear coat separetely?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

The clear coat is not sold at Lowe's, unless you special order it. Call me at the office and we can price this out for you.

I can drive a few hours and get 3 kits from lowes thats all they have in stock. but no clear. I was looking into just sealer being the cheap way out. or just the clear.

Hello Christine,
I special ordered two full kits of your Epoxy from Lowe's after spent couple days to read all the posts regarding to your Epoxy and following your instruction below but:
1. I printed out the instruction below and took to the local Lowe's store close to my house in Portland, Oregon to place the special order.
2. Mark works at the painting department called in talked with Jenifer to place my order on Oct. 03. 2011 since you wasn't available.
3. I ordered two full standard kits plus to extra CLEAR COAT kits but I was so surprised that the two extra CLEAR COAT are the same price with the two standard kits??? I paid $1081.16 for the two full kits that is selling at:shocking::shocking::shocking::shocking: $991.90??? ($495.95 x 2=$991.90):shocking::shocking::shocking::shocking:. I also paid $10.00 for extra 2lbs of aluminum oxide.
4. Mark told me the orders will be ready for pickup before Oct. 10.2011 and I don't really know what I am going to get since Mark did all the talking with Jenifer.
5. Please explain for me why I had to pay so much for two complete kits comparing to the rest of fellows in GJ?
Thanks,
DL

The store will need to know:
Vendor # 21374
Item # 89115 (this is a generic number used mostly by Rustoleum)
Part # call me
Pricing call me
The store will also need to know what color basecoat and flake colors you would like.
Please feel free to call me if you need further help. If I am not available, the other girls can usually help.

I do get busy sometimes, sorry I was not available to speak with you. Call me at the office and I can figure out what we can do to fix things for you.
If you would have spoke with one of us before you went to the store, this would not have been an issue. Lowe's is not offering the Premium Kit package at this point.

First off: Any Stores in Colorado Springs, CO? Secondly: I have heard from a few folks that the price through Lowes is much less than through the Epoxy-Coat site. Is that true?
Thanks,
Mike

We do not have any stores in Colorado at this point. You can however special order it through any Lowes store. It is for the most part cheaper. It does depend on what your purchasing. Please talk to me first, I can direct you on the most cost effective way to handle this.
