Any Lowes in Dallas that stock? I bought the Rust-Oleum water based, not knowing any better (until I started researching more). Luckily, I haven't used it and will be returning it for something else.

Lowes stores that stock charge about 194.00
Lowes special orders pricing is still being corrected (it should be about 249.95)
Our standard pricing is 284.95

It is for the exact same kit. Lowes is charging for the shipping on special orders, that why their is a different price.

Hey Christine, What stores near 48473 carry it?

Nothing in Texas right now. You can special order it from any store though. Call me and lets see what we can do to help.

There were apparently no stores in the Richmond, VA area with it a couple of months ago. Have any stores started stocking epoxy-coat now?

Still just in Bristol, VA. We should know something more by the end of next week.

Thanks. there is a lot of new construction going on around Richmond. It might behoove you to have the local Lowes stores stock it.

Christine, I'm still confused about the pricing. I think you stated it's the same product whether from Lowes or you. From what I can tell from the Lowes and Epoxy Coat website, ordering it directly from Epoxy Coat is cheaper. Is that correct? It contradicts other statements. How much is shipping?

Lowes website - Ck 1400 3 gallon (no clear coat) for $384.
Epoxy Coat website - Full kit 3 gallon for $285
Lowes website - HK-1400 1.5 gallon (no clear coat) for $196.
Epoxy Coat website - 1/2 kit 1.5 gallon for $180

bobliuca, call me. I have stated before, Lowe's is working out the kinks of the pricing online. I also do not charge GJ members shipping at this time. Call me at the office we can see what you need, what color you want, and what density of flake you want. This will determine which would be the best way for you to order.

I am having a new house built. The drywall just got put in. Should be complete in a couple of months. I think I want to epoxy the garage floor before we move in. I just ordered some of the sample tiles to decide which color to get. What is the best way to call you to get the shipping $$ off? Do you have an extension?

I can tell you they don't have them in Marlboro or Hamilton. I ended up ordering direct yesterday.

You can either ask for me or extension 20. Thanks!

Hello Christine, really appreciate your company having a representative on these boards to answer questions. Great business model!

Currently purchasing my first home and looking to purchase this product, any Lowes in the SW Michigan/Norther Indiana carry this? (zip 49091)

Online it appears Lowes has upped the full kit price from $194 to $340.

Thanks.

We do not currently have any stores in MI (we are located in MI), I will list the Indiana stores below. The price of 194.90 is for stores that have our product on the shelf. Online is considered a special order, this is more. Most of the special orders should be 249.95. This is an ongoing problem I am having with Lowe's. I recommend you call me and I can help you with whatever you need.
Thank You,
Christine

Christine,

To have answered the same 4 questions almost 200 times, You have to be the most patient person on earth. I think I'm going to buy your product on this reason alone!

Hi Christine - I visited my local Lowes in Irvine, California and they only carried a water based generic due to our EPA regulations. The guy in the store thought they might have it in San Diego or Riverside counties. Do you know of any stores in So Cal that stock your product? Thanks, Robert

I know the stores in Escondido and San Marcos do not carry it. They show it in the system as an item but have no way to order it. Basically, they had no idea how to special order it. I even spoke to a manager but she said the system won't allow a special order. I wanted to go with Lowes for their price on it (but per this thread, the prices are still jacked up in their system). Seems the best way is to get it directly from Christine.

But also curious if any other stores carry it in SD.

I hope there is a chance in SD, as that is where many of the old car resto guys go to get solvent based auto paint. I know a supplier in Riverside who had to recommend a San Diego shop as he could not sell anything but water base product now. . .

Questions regarding plans to treat my floor:

I have a 400sq ft garage and have a full kit. Was going to divide garage/product into 4 sections/batches.

Is it best to do each section 'fully' before starting the next, i.e.- what I'll call "METHOD A": Mix batch #1, apply, wait ten mins then backroll, then apply flakes? (section #1 of 4 now totally done) then, go and repeat on the next section...

Or, what I'll call "METHOD B": after applying epoxy to section #1, should I mix and apply batch #2 to section #2, then, go back and backroll #1, apply flakes to section #1, then go back to section #2 and backroll, flake?..... etc going on like this to sections 3, and 4.

I guess what I am concerned with is if I use "method A" there will be too much time between sections whereas when overlapping it will show. How much time can elapse where that is not an issue?

If I follow "method B" I'm worried too much time will pass between applying a given section and going back and backrolling the prior. This way would however cut down on the time between treating each section, and the overlapping of the epoxy.

I want to do this all myself; may be able to recruit someone but not sure. Wife has to watch kids and Dad, Bro and friends are always busy as heck so I'd like to plan/do it myself if possible.

thx

Definitely go with Plan A, especially if your doing it yourself. You will not have an issue with seeing any overlap marks. I usually recommend overlapping by a couple inches. The new epoxy will self level out.

Christine - how does this "overlapping" work? If the first section has been flaked, how you do overlap the first section when doing the second section without covering up the flakes? Or is this even a problem as you can re-flake that overlap section when flaking the second section?

Call me and lets chat. Sometimes the biggest problem is overthinking some of this stuff.
You will flake the section except for the last inch or two that will overlap. This will give a much better finish look.
I will be on call all weekend if the ofice is closed. Call me if you want to discuss this further.

Christine, Somewhere in these 27 pages, someone asked about burning the fiber. My 28'x28' new slab has fiber but I don't feel any strands and there isn't any reaction when I put a torch to it. Will the fiber be a problem? Also, I'm interested in the color Orange but can it be lightened up a bit? I can't think of anything to compare to the shade I would like but the chip that is pictured is a bit too bright for me.

I've got a 28'x 28' and a 13'x24' slab to do, will that require 2 kits or is there a more economical way?

You will need more than 2 kits. The fibers will probably not stick up until you do the acid etch, this will expose them. Then you will need to burn them off. If you skip this step, you will not be happy.
Call me and we can discuss the most economical way for you to order.
Thanks
Christine

Are there any Lowe's in Oregon, specifically Bend or Redmond that might carry this?
