Thanks Kaizen.. unfortunately, I chose the other way, I used the clear harderner 394 with my base coat today... it turned out completely awesome, so no worries, but now I'm going to hold off using the blue tint hardner 394.15 with my top clear coat until I can talk to someone at Epoxy Coat about it.
As for Epoxy Coat as a company.. well, I'm not real thrilled with them for the following reasons
1. NOWHERE on their website, in their documentation, in the FAQ, or really anywhere on the entire Internet is there any mention of two different hardening agents in their product. THe labels on the product don't say anything useful either.
2. In the hard copy instructions, it does say something to the effect "keep the contents of the base coat bucket together, and the contents of the clear coat bucket together", but um, you have to empty the bucket to get the instructions out, that say not to empty the bucket of contents. Gee, thanks brilliant.
3. It's readily apparent they changed their hardening agent product somewhere along the line, and did not change their documentation to match. There is nothing in the instruction book, or on the container labels as to the difference... is it really that hard to print "use with clear coat", or "use with base coat".. ??? smh
4. Their customer support *****. I called the 800 number during their open business hours, and I gave up after 30+ minutes on hold when it because obvious nobody was home, despite the greeting saying my call is important to them, please wait on the line until the next available customer support rep. I called their "after hours" support line, left a detailed message, and got no call back. F'ing worthless really, and thanks for wasting a half hour of my time on hold today
