In the attached garage we taped off the edge of the plastic channel drain. See first 2 pics. I feel like because the epoxy and clear coat is so thick, it left a decent size lip that seems like it will fail rather quickly. Especially since this is where all the crud will be flowing around. I filled all the control joints with a flexible polyurea joint filler, but I wonder if it's the right thing here next to the drain. Perhaps a hard epoxy filler would be better in this spot...
I'm about to do my shop next, but would like a better result. I'm thinking of extending the epoxy right to the inside edge of the channel and not taping it off like the attached garage. Channel drain is made of polypropylene I think.
What's best practice in this situation?
