Epoxy on poured walls

On a segregated section of the basement I am looking at doing an epoxy floor coating. The basement walls are poured concrete. Im going to try to gring down and smooth the form joints. Can I just use epoxy on the walls also?

Any one have any pics? This will be a man cave section with a small bar, a little TV and a mini workshop for clean things during the winter months.

Also on the expoxy floor section, I am only doing a back section and not the whole floor. How do you make a crisp transition line? Can I just painters tape mask it or will it bleed under?

Sure you can do the walls. It's rolls like paint, so whatever you can paint, you can put epoxy.

What I used is red tape that is made for Tyvex wrap on houses. It's like $20 a roll, but it's way tougher than masking tape but doesn't leave glue like duct tape will.

I've heard great things about the Frog Tape. You might want to look into it.

Be sure to check with your supplier for details about coating vertical surfaces. Some coatings are not only more viscous that typical paints, but also considerably heavier. For example, our pigmented coating has ceramic content, which is heavy enough that it tends to slide down a wall before it has time to cure. Not a big deal, we have an additive that helps prevent that sliding.
