Earlier this week, I was in Kansas City. I got to stop at HJE, picked up a couple of small items and promptly forgot to ask if there will be an Epstein Day this year.

Anyone have any information?

Thanks

Re: Epstein Day 2019??

Probably need to make a sticky poll on page one to see how much interest there is across the journal. Probably need to ask Jori if he can line up deals, swag, freebies, etc.
At about a little more than a month out, now would be the time to generate interest if it's going to happen. There's just nothing like fireworks, apple pie, seared flesh, and buying US made tools from a small business.

I'll be interested to see if there's another one this year!

I mentioned Epstein's Day to my wife. She gave me that look, as she does every year. Already making my list.

I’ve got a list ready. I was planning on making an order regardless of the day being “official” or not.

Yes! If you guys are down, we're ready for another one.

Well, I'll guess I'll make this a sticky then.

I'll also drop the ?? out of the thread title.

If you can provide some more information, either the OP can edit his original post to include it or I can do it with a "Moderator Edit."

Never been part of one before. What is it?

Started in 2012 -

Here is the original thread for this idea: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154512

Here's the deal:

1. On July 4th, buy some tools from Harry J. Epstein. Buy a little or buy a lot, but buy something. I thought we could all buy within the same 12-hour window of time, but that might not matter. As long as you place your order on the 4th, you'll be just fine.

2. When you place your order, there will be a box in which you can write comments. At the very least, let them know you are from GJ. If you want to go beyond that and thank them for what they do, that's up to you.

3. Once your tools arrive, share pics of them with us here, in this thread. Don't start another thread about your Epstein's order, let's all just share them here.

That's it. Why are we doing this? Because some of us had the idea that Harry J. Epstein's is a great place. It's an old-fashioned, family-owned business that has a commitment to offering quality USA-made tools at good prices. And, they have excellent customer service; just look on their website for examples of the custom artwork they offer on your tool packages, FOR FREE. It's insane to get that level of care and attention from a company in 2012. Anyway, we want to support them, and Tool God Fedwrench suggested that combining our July 4th celebration of America with supporting a good old American company by buying their American tools would be just swell.

I'm going to lock this thread until after the 4th, so people can then post their tool hauls in here. Until then, if you want to talk about this (and we'd love for you to join us) then please use the thread linked at the top of this post.

Thanks for your time.

Oh, and here is a link to Epstein's website:

http://www.harryepstein.com/

There is a closeout section and a regular catalog section. To see all the items available, you really need to use the alphabetic tabbed menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

Also could there be a 90 tooth set that could be offered for the 3 ratchet sizes? I think you may have done it before but that would be handy this year.

HJE and BBQ are the two things I miss most about KC (I moved).

Instead of screwing over everyone that works there why don't we do Epstein's week?

Last year there was a ton of overtime and a delay because of the increased orders. I know this would create issues with some of the giveaways, but maybe Jori could work around that in any offerings?
