So things are obviously taking a little longer this year because of how many orders we got as well as we've experienced a spike in normal online orders but the GOOD NEWS is that I've hired three people in the last month and will probably have to get someone else to help us keep up with the demand. This is all to say that things like Epstein's Day and the support you guys show us year round does make a difference and that to be able to grow while our doors are closed to the public is a pretty amazing thing. So THANK YOU and if you are in a rush for your order we'd be happy to ship what we have right now and then send the back ordered items at no extra cost.

That's great news! Glad to hear things are going well and getting better!

Looking forward to receiving my box-o-tools, but understand it will probably take a while longer. I know I ordered some stuff that probably wasn't in stock from Wright & SK.

That's great news, I'm glad things are going well for you guys!

It was like Christmas morning with the mystery bag. One of my items a was a spark plug socket that I didn't have and was actually planning to buy very soon!

Thank you :rocker:

Some of you guys may have ordered cooler stuff, but I don’t think anyone got better box art than I did. My daughters were screaming when they saw She-Ra on the box this morning.

Ordered a Wright ball end hex set but got Elkind. They seem great though. I’ve had my eye on those pull scrapers for a couple of years now and am glad to have one. I ordered two somehow but I am sure someone I know will like to have the spare. The SK bottle opener is really cool.

My mystery bag contents are on the left. Always saw those bomb tethers and wondered whether I could find a use for them. Now I get to try! Also received the smallest breaker bar that I have ever seen and a few sockets to go with them.

That box art is next-level awesome. Definitely suitable for framing.

I requested a dodo bird wearing a blacksmith apron and using an anvil. Can't wait to see the resultant objet d'art.

First part of my HJE Day order arrived yesterday!

The extension cord motherlode:

I ordered two of the 50' red/white/blue ones. My only regret is not ordering more. Great quality, and a heck of a deal.

There was a long box waiting on the porch for me this afternoon.

The English pattern Grayvik is a lot nicer 2nd than the one I got last year.

This is SKs “needle nose slip joint”

And this Warwood 1.5Lb drilling hammer is adorable.

Had to ship to my parents house as I was deployed. Heard the box art is definitely frame-able. Excited to open it up, and possibly even make a frame. Thank you.

What do you think of the SK set versus the Wright?

I just opened them this evening. Both feel good in your hand and look great.

SK is long pattern for more leverage, coupled with the 6 point box end, I hope to be able to loosen the really tight nuts and bolts without rounding off.

That open end on the Wrightgrip looks awesome. Can’t wait to see how they compare to the Snap On Flank Drive, Channel Lock and Milwaukee wrenches.

My small order came in a few weeks ago. So far, my favorite item is definitely the extension cord. Wishing I would have ordered more than one! First image is stuff I ordered. The other two are the contents of my two "Mystery Bags." Everything was packaged very nicely. Thanks HJE!

Small order, SK 30" 1/2" drive breaker bar and a couple SK Flexzone sockets. Thanks HJE, hope you did well this year. Mystery bag contents are: Carpet/linoleum knife and coax stripper.

Awesome box art and will frame it.

Received my order Friday afternoon and was not impressed with the SK 3/8 LP 90 ratchet. horrible backdrag, selector was very sticky and it was bone dry. I lubed it up with some permatex ultra slick motor lube as I was putting the ratchet back together the bottle of lube got knocked over which I did not notice so the Epstein shirt came in real handy for cleaning that mess up. Maybe I was just expecting to much from the Ratchet after reading all the glowing reviews on this forum? I think I will stick with Icon ratchets going forward much smoother and half as much back drag.

Look forward to supporting Harry J Epstein company in the future. This in no way reflects on them.

This isn’t the first I’ve read of this ratchet not being great.

I bought one from ep a while back when they first came out and issues.. lubed it up and sk wanted me to ship it back... i never did... never bought another sk product. I think they would have covered shipping... prefer snapon... sk wasn't that cheap in my opinion.... it seems to be better now... but i never use it. I prefer proto for American made on a budget....6927d9bb1b2020dd9384197ea12af595.jpg

That's a first generation model with the green direction switch. I got one probably about the same time. I don't use mine much either as I really like the Tekton 90 tooth and Matco ratchets in 3/8 drive.

I think many people had high hopes for the SK 90 tooth ratchet but, it ended up being a meh ratchet. High expectations with less than stellar execution. :(

I'm still waiting on my Epstein Day order too but, historically my order never shows up until a month or two later .

Same here, bought the same ratchet during Epstein's day the same year it was released. Slight back drag but ok to use. The round head in the SK Epstein Day's kit is smoother. I prefer my Snap-on ratchets which are silky smooth and fits nicely in my hands. I use it to bolt my antenna when I raise or lower it.

I bought a couple of LP90s late last year. They must be a newer version. Very little backdrag.

Got my order about two weeks ago. Craftsman USA punch & chisel set along with a 3pc Craftsman USA nail set. Opted for the $5 Mystery Bag as well.

The Mystery Bag had a heavy blue leather bean bag (lead shot??), a Wilde USA pocket inspection mirror, and a double OE wrench PN# S-20130. It is 2 3/16 and 2 1/8. Curious as to its maker & purpose. The Sharpie is just for scale.

Thanks to all the JHE employees for another great 4th of July sale. Can't wait for the 2021 sale,

I have a standard 3/8” drive LP90 and have no complaints. It was pretty dry so I opened it up and put some Super lube in it. It’s now super smooth with very little back drag. I have had it for a little over a year with no issues. I would rate it pretty close to Snap On, Mac or Matco ratchets.

I liked my 3/8DR LP90 so much i got the 1/4DR this year. Maybe I’m just used to absolute **** ratchets that the LP90 seems so good. Either way I like it.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that they're all bad. Just that some duds make it out the door. More people than not seem to like them, but a nontrivial number seem to have issues.

After reading several threads on here about them, it's enough duds to make someone like me not want to take a chance. I gave them a pass.

Got my order today. Forgot to get a pick of the tools but they nailed the box art! I requested a domestic cat that looks like a lion.

Skipping it at anything approaching msrp is a no brainer to me. SK a 1/2 flex version on sale for $60 and I almost tried it. I’d still leather pay snap on whatever they’re asking.

Vaughan rebrands a bunch of Thor soft face hammers, so you can probably get replacement Thor faces from them.

Update: found some USA made Nupla hammer faces that are almost a perfect fit for the mystery hammer
Only a slight adjustment will be needed so they fit flush:bounce:

My stuff made it today. A little disappointed with how thick the channel lock pliers are. Guess I've been spoiled by my Knipex Cobras.

Wow, people are getting some really nifty mystery bag items. Makes me wonder what gold is hiding in dusty, dimly-lit corners of HJE's...

Crazy how many people have issues with the lp90! I have a first gen that I ordered on Epstein’s Day a few years ago, and it’s a great ratchet. Honestly, I like it better than the Dual80 snap-ons that I have and the Mac Axis ratchet. I wish they had stayed with the green selector switch, because when I order a 1/2 and 1/4 they won’t match

I got my order today and I’m thrilled. I got the big polished Wright metric set of wrenches, a bunch of Wright 1/4 extensions, some craftsman torx drivers, and the big craftsman punch set.

I’m really impressed with the Wright wrenches. They came covered in something, but they look great after a good rub down with a rag. I was expecting a less nice looking industrial tool, but these look really nicely made. The chrome isn’t flawless, but it’s pretty close. The Wright grip ridges are all very clean and precise. Even on the tiny 7mm wrench. For the roughly $200 I spent on the set, they’re a great deal. I’m pretty glad I cheaped out and didn’t go for SO flank drive plus. Sure, they’re longer and probably more perfect, but these Wrights are more than good enough for me.

Received my order yesterday. Got the 15 piece metric chrome wright wrench set and a few other small items. Pics of the mystery bag. Happy with the items received, not sure what the tool with the bolt going thru it is. It is made by wright
