Hey Geiger-counter guys- you'll never EVER need to calibrate a counter unless your job entails writing the reading in a box on a form.

I worked in molbiol labs for a decade, and we used our counters all day, every day to follow our materials and chase down leaks and spills. Our daily 'calibration' entailed waving a check source in front of the tube. If the needle jumps and you hear a bunch of clicks, you're good to go.

My favorite check source was an ordinary Coleman Lantern mantle. They're hot with thorium.

Enjoy a $27 counter just for its novelty, but don't entertain dropping a hundred bucks having the thing calibrated.

Do you sell any multiple tools sets or rolls from Channellock? I do not see anything on the HJE website

Thank In Advance

We don't, but we can get anything that Channellock makes, if you don't mind waiting a week or so for us to get it in stock. Just submit the part numbers in the "comments" section when you checkout. If you need a price quote first, just email or PM me the part numbers and I'll let you know.

thanks

I've been lurking here for quite some time discovering all the things I never knew I needed. Getting in on this deal finally made me get off the fence and create an account.

Jori, last year I bought the big set of slotted screwdrovers (which included a stubby PH1 and a cabinet PH2), and I would really like to complete the set with some Phillips drivers. I can't see any sets; can you in any way gather all the yellow handled Proto Phillips screwdrivers (that did not come in the 18pc set) and let me know how many they actually are?

Thanks

I'm in for sure. Wish I had participated last year but oh well, I'll make up for it this year! Glad to support this company

You know, we bought those Proto screwdrivers on a closeout deal (which were probably on closeout because the majority of them were slotted), so we wouldn't be able to get any more of the phillips.

thanks

Anyone have any long term experience with the Armstrong "aerospace" ratchets? I am liking the design but I am not a fan of enclosed heads.

Take it for what it's worth because I upgraded from the standard craftsman rp ratchets but I like them a lot. They were my Epsteins Day purchase from last year so I would not consider that long term.

They feel like they may be a little on the heavy side but I do not use them all day every day, so that is of little concern to me.

Action is good and the higher tooth count has been a welcome change for me.

Wright surprised us with a whole bunch of t-shirts.
If you are buying Wright merchandise and would like a t-shirt be sure to include your shirt size.

thanks

I knew something would happen - had a ball joint go on my wife's car. There goes the little funds I had saved up for Epstein's Day. I can make a purchase next weekend, but you guys are going to have to buy $80-100 of things from there on July 4th to make up for what I can't make happen this go-around. :(

Jori,

Can you guys get the Facom FA-289 Nut Splitter, 3-Piece set? If so, how much? Stanley/Proto also sell this kit, rebranded perhaps. I want it pretty bad.

THREE THINGS YOU MUST DO TO REAP THE FULL REWARDS OF EPSTEIN'S DAY!

"I pity the fool that does not follow these three steps." - Mr T.

1. :Mr.T:Write in the comments section when you check out: -> "Epstein's day" or something along those lines, with anything that you'd like to tell us regarding box art requests, etc. This is just to distinguish between Epstein's Day orders and regular orders.

2. :Mr.T:Let us know your Garagejournal "handle", your GJ user name. For me it would be "Jsackin". You will be glad you did.

3. :Mr.T:Epstein's Day begins at midnight Central standard time for those of you late night shoppers.

Ok, now here is the super special offer for Epstein's Day 2014. A number of manufacturers have stepped up and offered up some pretty cool stuff as giveaways.

#1. If you buy a Channellock item, you will get a Channellock give away as long as they last. Channellock has given us stickers, and hats as well as 23 pairs of pliers. Also, we have some Channellock t-shirts left over from last year (not too many). So all of those items are fair game to be thrown in the order. I will post a pic of the hats when they come in.

#2. If you buy a Wright item, you will get a Wright pocket screwdriver for as long as they last. Wright gave us 100 of them. We also have some Wright shirts left over from last year, but not too many.

#3. There will be some Armstrong t-shirts (Not here yet, but I'll throw up a pic if they come in time). Buy an Armstrong item, get an Armstrong t-shirt for as long as they last. 30 or so shirts. Note: Gotta buy some Armstrong stuff in the Catalog. Armstrong closeouts don't qualify.

#4. Occidental is giving away a B5057 pocket caddy with every order of a full Occidental tool bag setup. The pocket caddy is just like the picture, except it's black and no tools come with it.

If you are just looking for an Occidental bag or a belt, Occidental is throwing in a hammer holder as well. (Long as they last!)

#5. Epstein's is going to throw in a US made (Modern Abrasives) dual grit sharpening puck on every order. There is also a number of other misc shirts, hats, and other stuff that we'll be throwing in, but not anything we have good quantities in. You don't have to do anything to get the puck, except of course:

:Mr.T: write "Epstein's Day" in the comments section of your order
:Mr.T: let us know your GJ username. (Also if you are wanting a shirt, let us know size)
:Mr.T: Place your order after midnight central time.

thanks again for all your support!
