How your shop is shaping up is making me feel lazy or sorry on where I’m at on mine. Look forward to the next visit.

It’s nice when the conduit comes out like it should, nice work!

I better get a move on, you’ve caught up to my half of a shop having electric. It’s only been 12 years or so.:lol_hitti

Caution!!! when Shorty says he’s looking forward to his next trip there, it likely means other than just seeing your shop!:lol_hitti

Shorty did tell me to empty my van.

I know how to distract Shorty, some red lights, a few Hooters girls, it doesn't take much.

I got some more electrical work done in the last day or two. I got the outlets for the welders and the plasma table installed as well as a few more outlets on the north wall.

I got all of the machines moved off of the south wall so I can start installing the tin on that wall. I'm hoping to get that side of the shop tin up this week after the day job. Having moved all the of the machines from where the they have been sitting for the last few months, I think they will not go back from where they came.

Speaking of visits, I think this coming Monday would be a good day for a surprise visit. Definitely need to ensure the fluid stored on the work bench is at a safe temperature.

I think I'm ready for my official Florida State safety inspection.

Watch out Mac.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Thanks for the warning Craig, I got this covered.

I had a pretty productive day today. I got another 20' of wall tin up and moved some machines into their final places in the shop.

I thought I had everything figured out but at the last minute I changed my mind. I moved the BP into the corner by the man door. The Monarch 10 EE is next to the BP followed but the shaper and the Burke mill.

I have another 20' of wall to hang tin on and a few more machines to place but I'm making progress. I still have to run electric to all the machines but I'm moving forward.

More progress today.
20 more feet of tin hung to complete the south wall. I have 6 more feet of tin to put up on the west wall and I'm done.

As I was about to put the last 2 sheets up, I realized that I have to finish the last of the water line. This last piece of 3/4 PEX will go to a hose bib next the overhead door. I go outside to drill a hole in the wall for the hose bib and see I have a pile of junk where I need to work and I was out of steam so I called it a day.

Maybe tomorrow after the day job I'll try again.

Shop is looking as good in person as the pics. Glad you didn’t have me handling sharp panels without my gloves and safety shoes. I enjoyed the tour and meeting the missus.

Yes, May would be a great time for a meet up.

Its been almost a month so it's time for an update.
I finished all of the interior tin. I have hung over 400' of 3/4" conduit and used over 1500' of 12 ga. wire and 1000' of 8 ga. wire. I now have power to all my machines except the Pacemaker lathe and the air compressor.

Once I get power to the compressor I need to start running air lines to everyplace it needs to go. I will most likely run one big loop around the building and add the required drops where they need to be.

I'm down to about 5 or 6 totes of stuff that has yet to be unpacked from the Jersey shop.

The major task left to do in the new shop is to frame out the bathroom and install the fixtures, although I'm not in a real big hurry to do that. I need to find (or make) the right sink for the shop.

The transfer case in my truck took a dump and that is project #1. The replacement transfer case should be here on Wednesday and all stops until I have my truck up and running again.

Mac, the shop is looking great.
I like the Monarch and the Bridgeport.

Everything just looks great!

Watch FB market place for stainless sinks. Also, check out the scrap yards around there, I noticed a few in the one I go to.

Wow you’ve been busy. Everything is looking good and look at the open floor. Like me, looks like the weather has been a big plus in knocking tasks out.

Your shop is looking great! I read the thread a month or two ago and I dont think I commented. Much progress in a few years time. You have plenty of equipment and space there. I like working outside in decent weather so that porch is awesome. Jim

Thanks for the positive comments guys.
I had to take the day off and bring the first real job into the shop. The Xfer case on my truck died from the infamous pump rub. The new case arrived yesterday and I cleaned up the floor this morning so I can lay my old fat *** on the floor and swap the case out.
I remember doing trans swaps on my chest in my youth, too bad the truck couldn’t wait until I got a lift installed. IMG_5639.jpgIMG_5637.jpg

Shop is looking great Mac.

If you're like me it was a big step when I could actually work on something in the shop other than the shop.:bounce:

Gotta love them transfer cases that rub through.

Thanks Mike.

It took me way longer than I thought but I got the new Xfer case installed. Test drive was good and I’m pretty sore. I think that’s the last time I’m going to be doing that kind of work laying in my back and looking up. IMG_5654.jpg

OK Mac, just rub it in, showing all that concrete like a Hooters girl shows legs and........, AND pull your truck in there!!!.

I can relate to the fat *** part of being on the floor, the real ***** is figuring out which move don’t hurt as much getting back up. Any video of that by chance?:lol_hitti

Awesome that you’re working on something IN your shop.

Install one of these and then you can make your own budwiser instead of buying it!

I used to think the same thing when I got my lift Mac.:willy_nil

I've been crawling around on my back under our coach for the past couple of weeks and have really been wishing I had a lift for it.:D

I just had to replace mine as well for the same issue. The problem was mine was on a manual trans and the input shaft was different so I had to tear the new one down before I could install it. Of course that discovery was only after trying to install it with the wrong shaft. Now a few months later the slave cylinder on the clutch went out so I have to pull the transfer case and trans back out. :(

Sorry to hear that JB. I can’t believe they designed a slave cylinder that needs the trans removed to service it. Might as well replace the clutch while you have it apart.

This one has to go over the input shaft of the trans, so it has to come out sadly. Even worse my S10 is on the lift right now getting a new trans so I don't even currently have that at my disposal. I'm going to look the clutch over first, it was supposedly replaced before I bought it. If it looks good I'll leave it, if not I'll get a new ordered.

Ran into these when up in Canuckia.

Wow, that one on the end would work well when Shorty comes to visit.

Not to rub in the fact that I have visible concrete on the floor, but I now have an unencumbered horizontal surface. I was able to start putting things away in the wall cabinets and get everything off my main work table.
I still have a bunch more bench and table space that needs to be cleaned but I am moving forward and seeing progress helps keep me motivated.

I hung a shelf on the wall using chain standards that I sell on Etsy. I have some more shelves to put up to display my destroyed position collection.

I bought a bunch of new steel that will get converted into a custom wall unit honey do project for Laura's fish tank. I will also build a new desk to replace the one that just moved from the house into the shop.

On a separate note, I just pulled the trigger on a 20x30 carport/shed combination. It will be a 20x20 carport with an attached 10x20 shed with a 6x6 roll up door. This shed will ensure that things that don't belong in my shop have a nice place to live. Steel prices are going up as fast as lumber and I didn't want to wait any longer. I am having this one installed so its not on my plate of projects to do.

Wow, just wow Mac,
Clear concrete, clear bench top, stuff put away in cabs, etc. No, no rub in at all, none what so ever.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Looking better every time we see.

Can you post a few over all pics?

Look forward to see what your fish tank creation will be.

Shorty won’t use that when there’s a Bush 10’ away.

Heres a few pics after some more house cleaning.

What kind of fish does Laura have ? I've been itching to get back into aquariums.

She has a 20 gallon tank with 2 Angels, 2 Tetras, and one Platty.
Laura may be having second thoughts on the aquarium wall unit, she's still thinking about it even though we already bought the steel to build it.

Laura left to go up north to see the kids for a week and I plan on spending my evenings out in the shop. I have a bunch of things that still need to be done out there but if I could get the air system done and power to the Pacemaker, I'll be very happy.

Looks sharpe!

Well, the steel can be your first shop stock. Now you’ll have to build a rack for it.:lol_hitti

You can show us pictures of the part that didn’t get house keeping done.:lol_hitti

Craig, the only thing not cleaned yet is the all the stuff I have stacked on top of the plasma table and the front porch. I have a few things that will go on FB/MP and that should help. I'm following your lead on getting rid of stuff.

Looks great Mack

Thanks Shorty

Jay

Thanks Jay,
The pics may be a bit deceiving as the machines are pretty tight together along the wall.

Hey,Rmack, I've got a7" Atlas and a 12"Sheldon shaper in my shop.
Just love that sound

It is a relaxing sound Steve. Nice Sheldon. I don't use the shaper all that often but if I ever find a bigger one, it will probably come home with me.

I ran out of steam early last night and didn't get as much done as I wanted but I DID get some things done and progress is progress.

That will be so nice to work in.

Thanks Mike,
I'm so looking forward to getting back to work in my own shop again.

The Wheel Horse is going for sure as is the diesel Samurai and the Yanmarha diesel golf cart.
I have a Pexto sheer that I think should find a better home and I have a ****-ton of special tools for MerCruiser and Volvo-Penta that I will never use again and they have to go.

I got the power pulled for the compressor in the Conex box from the shop. Now I just have to run the air line form the Conex back to the shop.
