That's what I was thinking, slide the old out and slide the new in since I've already got the plenum.Would uncase be exact fit, slide out then slide in? Uncase usually set inside furnace while other sets on top furnace. I don’t know if both are same size plus cabinet. It’s been years since doing any residential myself
I have the cased part number currently installed. I was able to match up the uncased part number as an identical coil minus the sheet metal as far as I can tell.If you're capable of installing the new coil into your existing sheet metal plenum (case) then just purchase the uncased. However, if your existing plenum is not exactly the correct size for the new coil, and you're not setup for making a new plenum from scratch (or changing the size of you're existing plenum) then buy the cased coil and install the entire thing as a new unit.
17.5". The cased coil in the first post is what's currently installed. How wide is the furnace? You don't want a 17.5" coil on a 22" wide furnace. It he siize hole on the bottom side would be to small for the heating side.
