Does anyone on here have a Evolution power tools mag drill? I've rented mag drills several times before, but going by my rule (rent/borrow more then 3 times its time to buy one). Since I'm just doing hobby fabrication that would use a mag drill a dozen times a year its hard to swallow the $1k+ price of a Hougen, Jancy/Fein or Milwaukee mag drills. Also the used mag drills here everyone wants $600 for a drill that go the **** beat out off it.

Same boat awhile ago. Searched eBay until I found decent deal on right angle model which is more versatile for my needs.

They make a decent saw, I used their 14" metal saw for a while. But the only Evo mags I have seen are broken or refurb'd?

I'd be curious about them as well. I've always wanted a mag drill, but could never justify the price. I have a 9" Evolution dry cut metal saw, and it's been great so far...I'd buy one of their mag drill used for the right price, but $600 keeps it a bit out of my range to buy one new.

yes, i have an evolution mag drill. i bought it refurbished and love it. i started with a few annular cutters and now have most 1/16 sizes from 7/16 - 1 1/4, some new and some refurbished. i frequently set it up on my welding table as a drill press. they cut through steel like butter.

i have a source for refurbished mag drills and bits. pm if you are interested.

I have a Jancy USA5 that has been perfect.

Set up and alert on ebay, they come up VERY cheap sometimes, but shipping North of the border might ****. If you're near enough to the border a mail drop on this side is an option.

I got mine for $400 delivered across country via a pawn shop on ebay, and it was pretty much new with both, cut/tap spindle and a gorgeous chuck. Quick change, 2 speeds, built in lube, oh so nice!

Had a Milwaukee that was just okay, it did the job but you could pop the magnet pretty easily and the Hougens were ****.

i have received a few pm's. i made a call to see if there was any refurbs available right now. when he gets back to me i will relay the info.

i have no connection with this company other than the purchase i have made. i just got lucky and asked the right questions when i was searching for mine.

for those that are wondering. i have the evomag42 that will cut accept up to 1 5/8 annular cutters with a 2 inch cutting depth. it comes with all of the usual accessories. 3 jaw chuck, guards, safety strap and cutting oil attachments. the biggest reason i went with that model is the extended reach of the drill motor allowing the use of longer drill bits when using the 3 jaw chuck.

Ha I only made it borrowing one time. I borrowed a buddies planer, I still have it. Went and bought a brand new one today at Menards LOL. Probably rarely use it but it's mine now.
