Extending HF hoist control cable

I have 4 or 5 of the HF hoists, ranging from 880 lb rated up to 2000 lbs - only ONE of the controls has a long enough cable NOT to piss me off most of the time, so I ordered 50' of this

That should be fine, even the 2000 lb hoist only uses 16/4 cable.

I'm now looking at otions to extend WITHOUT having excess cable when I DON'T need it, but most connectors I see (need TWO males and two females per hoist, because I want the option of NOT having the extra cable getting in the way when I'm NOT using the hoist) - so the intent is to put one m/f pair right at the connection to the control, then do an "extension cord" of the 4/14 wire I bought with ANOTHER pair of identical connectors -

All the hoists are under roofs so don't need to be weatherproof, plus the heavier duty connectors I see would send the cost for 8 pairs of m/f connectors skyward - so I'm looking at 4 pin Molex connectors. Haven't picked a specific part# yet.

Anybody with other REASONABLY priced ideas (like UNDER maybe $5 per connector), I'd love to hear 'em - thanks in advance... Steve

Pic is not mine, but identical - basically all I want to do is to cut the 4 cond. cable a few inches from the control pendant, add 4 conductor connectors to "make it whole again", then make up a 4 conductor "extension cord" so I can have it either same length as it was, or add a 10 foot 4 conductor extension cord - that way I can only use the extension cord if I NEED it for easier load control WITHOUT having my feet/legs UNDER the load.

The factory cord is just under 6 feet long, my crane can be up to just over 12' high at the hoist for some jobs.

Just looking for reasonably priced 4 conductor mating connectors, weather resistant NOT necessary.

Thanks for suggestions so far... Steve

Went with 4 pin Molex, just under $80 total - should arrive by next weekend -
4 sets of these

One of these

and one of these

I'll also find or fab some sort of "dog leash" for each hoist so I'm not even TEMPTED to drag the hoist around by the control cable

Again, thanks for all the suggestions - one of which would've ran just under $350 - made me REALLY glad all my locations are NOT out in the weather  ... Steve

Missing, presumed dead in central Pa.
I bought a clearance 4 conductor twist lock generator extension cord for my Northern Tools 1500lb. Hoist that lives outside in my gantry crane. I cut the cord and wired the short female plug end to the hoist and the longer male plug section to the pendant which is stored in the shop. I have a box/shroud around the hoist that has power all the time, I only need to plug the pendant in to use the hoist.
