If you ever want a special depth deep socket, take a socket and cut it into, then weld each piece onto the end of a piece of pipe. You can make a socket as deep as you want like this. It is an old millwright trick for special applications. I also happen to be a machinist, so I take sockets and mill 6 flats around the top of them to create sockets that can be used with a box end wrench to get to bolts where other tools just don't work. An example of this is used on some spark plug sockets.
