I'm not a fan of companies that want you to buy online, but won't put a price on their inventory. If I have to call to get the price, why did I bother to go to the website.

It's possible that this is another brand for their Taiwanese imports, but seriously, why bother when they're already doing that with half the Williams catalog. It's not like they're dropping their prices as an economical brand.

If this was scam knockoffs, I'd expect that SnapOn would have already put the hammer down on the tool site.

Are these bs?

Originally for foreign markets??

Well, there are Taiwan-made Williams impact sockets, but the Snap-On Industrial catalog calls them Supertorque, not ExtremeTorque; none of the part numbers corresponds to the WLMS34-26 number on the label in that ebay listing; they don't offer a 26-piece set, only a 16-piece and a 9-piece; and the 16-piece comes in a blue box, not a red box.

I guess it's possible someone repackaged a bunch of Williams TW sockets into their own box and put their own part number on it, but why? I'd be skeptical.

Check out post #8 in this thread.

He had a similar reaction.

I actually bought a set of them and can say that the metric deeps are virtually identical to Tekton's sets. Chrome vanadium sockets with the same laser etching. The oil they come slathered in smells the same and the case material is a dead ringer for Tekton impact sets.

They aren't a bad deal really but unless Snap On is the oem for Tekton too through their industrial brands... it seems rather suspicious. Hey, now anybody who buus Tekton tools can claim they're really just a rebranded Snappy!:lol_hitti

I should've mentioned it in the other thread but got frustrated trying to upload photos.

I looked closer at the website and they actually have extreme torque on the sockets, or at least the stock photo does. And it says these are exclusive for Hanover tool.

No word back from Snap On yet...

Do the sockets say extreme torque on them?

I'll call and ask if I get a minute at work, also wondering since these are exclusive to them what size of an order do you have to put in to get every single impact item in a line up custom etched? Never seen the process so maybe it ain't that big a deal...
