Need to make a couple sleeves for using the hold downs in the flange holes and
a mount for a horizontal screw.

I did the same. I didn't make hold downs with the **** curves like yours though[emoji481]
Will need to now....LOL.
I took the easy way out and slightly rebent tire irons

Great use of the tire irons Lis,
Far better steel than what I used.
The notches you made for round stock are slick.

hight nice table and fab work! I had a question though, where did you get the angle adapter? I have been trying to figure a good way to hold my stands at an angle to weld the tube joints, that looks way better than the idea I had
Thanks Lutz,
I fabricated the angle adapter gizmo, it works slick.

Royce, how tall are you? Thanks Ed,
This one, also goes against the thought that a work bench needs to be 36" tall.
At only 30" tall, it is easier to get over the top of the layout and reaching across, for sighting lines and for fitting up.
Got lucky and found a chunk of 1-7/8" round bar in the bone pile, it fits the holes with just the right amount of slack.
Cut some 1" pieces and plug welded them on the back side of the squares, making sure that they were indexed with the table.
Now, any of the squares can be placed on any of the quarter points of the table
They could be clamped to the table, but don't really need to be.
I'll drill a hole in them, so they can be hung on the wall, when not in use.
