No, just buy one. They are more than just pipe. Build in preload springs, folding mechanisms, adjustable, spring loaded feet, etc. Burris is a solid, mid-priced option. There are cheaper and way more expensive options

The beta units are complete. 4130 chromoly **** stock with integral monopod. Same stock, tube bipod with 3 point mount to barrel shroud. I've tested the **** stock monopod and it's awesome. Plus the chromoly tube over the buffer tube adds a layer of safety behind the bolt/ breach. The bipod attaches with 3 thumb screws and is WAY more stable than collapsible bipods I've tried. The legs adjusters are all 5/8" diameter 316 stainless. This setup is rock solid for my 50 cal.

I’ve used a camera Tripod. You could use one
of those and remove a leg. They even have a
screw that you could use to mount it to your
gun with.

The camera tripod is a cool idea. I never thought of it. This build was for a 50 caliber. The rifle is about 30 pounds and the recoil...well that's why we shoot 50 bmg..

I like flexibility with a Bipod even on a 50.

Skeletal Support is the key.

It's rewarding I find to tackle the unusual.

Yeah, a Camera Tripod might not do it for you
if you’re using a .50 BMG, I think it might
depend on how high you had it raised though.
If you had it lowered maybe.

Just wanted to say that it’s awesome you guys have 50 cals. What’s the farthest you guys are accurate to?
I can't speak for others but I am "proficient" up to my rage limitation of 300 yards. Looking to up my game and having fun along the way.

I also offer anyone at the range to let a few fly because that's how I roll...

He sure is leaning into that thing! Recoil anticipation much?

Shooting a .50 is fun though...

Actually the felt recoil is about the same as a 12 Ga shooting 3 inch shells. Shooting from the Tripod is about the least amount of felt recoil you will experience from a 50.

The 50 because of its mass, a 7-8 lb sliding Bolt Carrier, 2 inch travel on the Barrel and generous Muzzle Break by default absorbs a lot of the recoil. This cannot be said about Bolt Action 50's.

The Muzzle Blast is more "upsetting". Best position is behind the Trigger or directly behind the shooter if spotting. You can actually watch the vapor trail after bit of training and practice. This is how we train.

The stance is based on Skeletal support and Triangulation.

Feet: Toes pointed in
Legs: Knees locked back
Non-trigger arm: upside down, holding Tripod Leg, elbow locked
Hips: Canted back with Sling between me and the front of the Rifle

This is how you hit 800+ yard targets standing with a 50 cal.

Wish we could upload video on here. Have a couple of shots and one in slow motion.

Just wanted to say that it’s awesome you guys have 50 cals. What’s the farthest you guys are accurate to?

My farthest confirmed hit is 2320 yards with a 50 cal. The NRA Whittington Center, Raton New Mexico 2015 while at Barrett's Long Range Course.

Lots O'50's...

I like distance between me and the opponent.

The advancement in muzzle break design has made even bolt action 50s not quite that punishing. The recoil is about the same as a 12ga. The muzzle blast is an awesome sinus pressure reliever. It simply put, never gets old. I have over 100 rounds with this SHTF 50, sometimes 20 to 30 rounds get outing with no pain to speak of...

I finally have the scope dialed in close. I'm looking forward to sending some of my own rounds downrange and really zero this rifle in.
