Sweet build OP. My only regret when I built mine was not making the frame deep enough to house a typical lista cabinet. Luv what you did there, very nice.

Thats a nice looking setup!

Like the color, and the storage is brillant. I also wished I had done something similar with mine.

I was admiring the big radial drill and wondered if you used that to do the hole pattern, then I saw the magnet drill :) Great job there, should last a lifetime. The challenge may be to keep the flat surface from collecting "stuff"

Thanks so much. Heres a couple of pics of the build. The cabinets are actually old blueprint cabinets I got for free from a university. I had a local machine shop waterjet cut a grid of holes every 3". I had to tap 585 holes 1/2-13. I picked up a used but sturdy mag base drill off the internet. The tubes are 1/4 x 6" x 6". The upper angle iron is 3/8 x 6" x 6". I moved all my hand and measuring tools here to free up shop space and took my roll cabinets home. I drew everything in solidworks to ensure everything would fit. Mathematically it worked out perfect with a 4" overhang. Cheers !

JJ: I love old blueprint (map or flat file) cabinets and I think you just built my FAVORITE STAND for them. hard to believe you have room for another cool bench in your shop so guessing maybe a client bought your other one(s) cause you sir have skills.

thanks for sharing!!

Hey, thanks so much. I did some work for a local university and spied them in the corner. I made a subtle inquiry about their availability. Eventually they let me have them. Cheers.

Excellent work!! I hope this isn't a stupid question, but is the top bolted or welded to the frame?

Jon: i'm guessing your table weighs close to a ton? am I looking at casters underneath the legs and does the table move fairly easily on them? speaking of that if you want to keep the table from moving even a tad how do you do that?

great looking table and shop sir!!
