I've noticed that the inside metal facing on the inside of my insulated Wayne Dalton (40 year old) bottom garage door panel, is loose and starting to fall out. I decided to remove one of the panels and the foamboard insulation to see what was going on, what I found is that the outside face of the panel has separated from the "stud" of the door.

Pretty clear that the construction adhesive has failed while allows the insulation to move and the inside panel to become loose. I can pinch the panel and bring the face tight to the stud, so I could re-glue it, but wondering if it would be better to drill a few holes and rivet the panel to the stud to prevent future failure.
This appears to only be happening on the bottom panel, so for now I'd like to see if I can keep this door rather than replace it. Any suggestions?
