Yeah but my rhft Cman V ratchet has like i dunno around 40-50 and it is smoother than a dual 80

Hey Monte,
I only have one screwdriver and it's the previous generation style, and I really like the ergonomics of it. It's a very unique handle shape.
Question....(I may have already asked this before in past but...) does the new one say France near the stem of the handle, like the BOST ones?

yeah i like it too. Unfortunately i also only have 2 of them (PZ1 + PZ2). I´m looking for more...

I wonder why he writes that the Pro-Twist series is now from eastern europe while "France" is clearly visible on the screwdrivers ?? (see pic above)

Kommen Toolique, AKA Two-Angels on eBay, usually has a selection of french Facom screwdrivers for sale. Some are even affordable. 
I bought most of mine by just watching for people on eBay who had no clue how valuable these are and buying cheap.

Thanks, Monte, for verifying that the Pro-Twist is made in France. That collar, at the base of the handle, is the greatest clue that's BOST-made.

Green handle suregrip SK screwdrivers were also made in France...but breakers were made in US.
maybe the SAE wrenches are from czech republic and metric from Taiwan ??? But doesn´t sound too logical....

Where are the 440s made, then? I have read here from several different members that the 440s were made in the Czech Republic. Maybe they were all going off ultimate garage's site...

That's funny... my SK t-handle met. hex w/ blue handles look exactly like those stanleys, made in france too... they do not have the ball end though, which is fine w/ me.

I have a load of Britool sockets (that I like a lot) and have noticed that Facom bought out Britool a while ago, I think that Stanley has bought Facom out now but am not positive about it.
I have a spendy Facom 603E hacksaw that's nice.

You are correct, and you also reminded me that Britool's line of screwdrivers are also from BOST.
Your hacksaw is made in France, correct?

I have been very pleased with my Facom tools. In fact I am in the process of completely switching to an all Facom tool line up. I have found them to be excellent tools at reasonable prices, if you know where to look. Facom has a good mixture of traditional tools and some very interesting innovations and a lot of their stuff is still made in France.

Is it not on the back of the knob like in this photo? The 601 is made in France.
I was torn between the 603E and the 601 hacksaws several months back... I ended up grabbing the 601 and haven't had second thoughts since

@ The Muffin Man : I also own the 601 Facom Hacksaw. Althought it has a less strenght (80kg) than the 603 (100kg), i still prefer the 601 for its better ergonomy.

@Muffin Man: Steve at Ult. Gar., has discussed these two hacksaws, I believe. If you haven't read the discussion, it might be worth seeking it out. I considered the top one, but I've got a few hacksaws already

Family Photos
Well, it's that time of year again. We do a family photo every year before the holidays. This year I thought I'd share.
First photo is our family. Uncle Joe is on the left. He's a little shy and keeps to himself, mostly. Continuing left to right that's me and Wife. She's got the same shape as the day I met her! That's my oldest in the middle. Geez, he's as big as his mom now. Then the twins and the baby.
Second photo is of my wife's sister and her husband. They're a little different - they do things their own way. No kids for them. It's just not part of their fancy city lifestyle.

I had been wondering why you are selling your Stahlwille tools. If Facom had a comfort handle like Stahlwille I would have a lot of their ratchets. I went with the Stahlwille fine tooth , 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch dr. ratchets. Not as smooth as Facom but the handle makes up for it.

I agree that the Stahlwille ratchets have a nicer (softer) handle than the Facom and they really are excellent ratchets. Ultimately, I switched to Facom because of the larger catalog. I can get just about any tool that I could possibly need from Facom, plus they are considerably cheaper.

Stanley did buy Facom and got USAG as part of the deal but I think they sold Britool to some investment group that just imports tools now I don't think any Britools are made in the Queens land.

Im not sure if theyre still made by sk, I love their wrenches and pliers not so much luck with their fine tooth ratchets, also Ihave a set of the "SK" made in france by facom screwdrivers and put them through some heavy use for 3 years and never had a problem now I use them at home.

Hi to all Facom fans
Today I received from the post office what should have been my Christmas present. A 1/4 Facom set, ratchet, sockets, bits, extensions, etc... I bought it from the german Ebay. All the pieces where in a sealed plastic bag from Facom. After all the excitement and thrill I started to check the tools and I got a nasty surprise. Most of them seem like they were stolen from the factory, from the ones that didn't pass the quality control. If you put a socket on a extension plus the handle, there is a huge play in them. I mean if you shake them a little it sounds like a ring bell. Something is wrong. The inside of the sockets is different from one socket to another. It seems that the machine that made them got crazy. The bits support doesn't even have a magnet in it. Just a piece of steel wire on the top side that should block the bit when you put it in. But the wire it's not a complete circle and one of the ends got out a little, I had to put it back with a screwdriver. The PH and PZ bits don't have the necessary canal in the middle to be blocked by that wire. They waggle and play inside the bit support like a drunk monkey. What did I bought? Is this the standard quality for Facom now? Or I'm just going crazy?? The ratchet is the only piece that seems ok. I compared the sockets with a similar set from Draper that I bought a few years ago. The steel it's identical, the chrome it's more shiny, but the Draper ones have no flow, and are much cheaper. I will try to make some pictures but my camera is bad at macro pictures. I will try anyway.
