hello everyone had some extra craftsman wrenches that i put up on ebay to sell they were purchased from sears and were only wrapped in brown wrapping paper there from years ago . the buyer is letting me know that it is fake from the buyer Look at the photos, this seller is unloading FAKE craftsman USA wrenches. This 32mm I bought is not even close to real. The color is off, the weight is off, the font is off, the MM is in capital letters when craftsman uses lower case and the markings to the left and right of the craftsman logo are not genuine. Very upsetting people are producing FAKE items and getting away with it on eBay. The 30mm in the photos is a genuine craftsman wrench. I only purchased this 32mm wrench from the seller. I really need help from anyone i was only selling them cheap because everyone else was charging double my price so my question is could it be possible i purchased sears wrenches from sears that were fake and is there anyway to tell . im refunding the seller 40 dollars for this and a 32 mm socket that was also in the auction but i would rather put them back up on ebay so someone else could get some use out of them.I purchased 3 32 MM at the same time 1 i used the rest of my career that is identical to this one that was sitting in my storage unit. any and all hope would be great.

First off punctuation and proof read your post. Second that wrench looks like all of the USA craftsman I've seen. So I'm going to need a better statement as to what the buyer is objecting to and what their proof is. I think they're trying to scam you, refund it but make them ship the wrench back.
That's real. Forging has changed over the years. The one you have is an early forging. The set from my dad looks like that, perhaps from the 70's - no flank drive on the box end, the = stamping going to the end of the raised panel and lack of a lip on the box to beam are all indicators of pre-Danaher era. They also have a more satin like finish.
Your post is confusing & hard to read. Are you the seller & the buyer who bought your wrenches are claiming they are fake? Or trying to scam you by swapping them out for apparent fake ones? But then you said you bought one that you suspect is fake?
If the one in the pic is fake then it sure fooled me. I've never heard of fake Craftsman wrenches but then again I've never owned any.

Sorry about that I was the seller of some authentic brought by myself or my dad and handed down to me craftsman tools .He was a farther that would go there after he retired and would come home with tools for me even though I always thought I had enough I realize now I utilize so many of the tools that were given . These Craftsman wrenches were just some that were sitting in my storage unit that I decided to sell. Your buyer is probably comparing the USA made Craftsman wrenches to newer offshore Craftsman wrenches.

This looks like a real Craftsman wrench to me. It’s a “V” series, most likely from the 70’s. It will look different and feel different than modern Craftsman USA wrenches made in the 2000’s.
I think your buyer is a blithering idiot and needs to educate themself before popping off and calling your item fake. Nobody is going to waste their time making a fake Craftsman wrench that’s worth $30. Whoever you’re dealing with sounds like a dope.

OP, you’d be surprised how stupid people are when it comes to Craftsman tools. 90% think they’re Craftsman history buffs and experts, but in reality they don’t know ****.
yes they are just wanted an opinion from others that have used the tools back then and because I'm not up on counterfeit tools this website has been an amazing resource already .

Unfortunately, eBay almost always sides with the buyer, so you’re in a losing situation. Make the idiot pay to return the wrench out of his own pocket and give him a refund for the purchase amount. I’ve had to deal with a few stupid eBay buyers over the years and it is what it is. I still run across people who think Craftsman is still made in the USA and if it isn’t, it’s fake. Had a guy on Marketplace do that to me recently with a mechanics set I was selling. Some folks live underneath rocks and never come out.
Maybe when you go to advertise it again, makes sure people understand it’s a “V” series wrench likely from the 1970’s. The more detail you put in your listing, the better off you’ll be.

yes from the late 1970s my wife said sometime after our son was born she remembers the guy beyond the counter talking tools to me and taking his time rolling them up in brown paper.

OP if it makes you feel better I have a small Snap On box for sale. Even has a picture of the model number, guy messages me to telling me it's a fake and he's going to report me to the FBI etc for trademark infringement. People are not smart and the internet makes them bold.

Too bad stupidity isn't a punishable offense within itself. Stupidity causes someone to do something and breaks the law. Hell I'd buy an FBI windbreaker and show up on the dude's porch, with a hidden camera, just to see the reaction.

They're not fake. They're just NOS probably 40 years old or so, and people aren't used to see that level of quality. The tools in your photos look outstanding compared to **** available at Lowes.
thanks purchased 3 at the same time 2 were in storage never used .The one I'm using for the last 35 plus years has just been wonderful granted its not a size i use often but when i need it its been great.

I highly doubt there is a fake craftsman anything. If you are going to the trouble of counterfeiting chrome plated steel you are going to do SnapOn and the like.
