I think the OP was asking about spray lubes.

Love WD40 for the smell, have given rost off and 5.56 CRC a run at times but always go back to the old faithful 2.26 CRC.

PB-50 for general lubrication.

I also keep PBBlaster's Spray Teflon and spray Lithium on hand.

Gibbs Brand as a penetrant and protectant for clean surfaces. can certainly be used for dissolving rust etc, but some other mentioned products may be stronger. but once you get the surface up to snuff, Gibbs to protect it.

For penetrating oil, I use PB Blaster.

For ratchets, Super Lube synthetic grease in the grey tube.

For drawer slides on the toolboxes, Liquid Wrench Dry Lubricant.

LPS-2, unless it's something where I care about the smell, then I use Bio-Lube, which is food safe and does not smell so you can use in around the house. Terrific stuff! It's a little heavier, kinda like LPS-2 but does not stink. Hard to find, I'm down to my last can....

My favorite is a home shop blend. Equal parts Marvel Mystery Oil, WD-40 and Charcoal starter fluid. Spray or squeeze bottle application. Asinine bolts get a warm-up with the propane torch then the juice. Not a bad lubricant either. Starter fluid pulls the cleaning properties of the Wild Dog and the Lube properties of the MMO deep into the parting lines of the rust welded parts.

kroil.

For what its worth-- I work as mechanical engineer in oceanographic institution. I went to buy WD-40 from the stockroom, and they (these guys are gurus) informed me that the only thin spray lube approved for use on our submersibles (navy owned) is sili-kroil and kroil products.

This is for a variety of reasons, including the penetration depth, but mainly because it is not detrimental to any o-rings or gaskets.

my $0.02

The OP asked about "spray lube". My favorite spray lube has to be "Clark Innerslide Lubricant". It's meant to lubricate the inner slides on fork truck masts and contains lots of Moly and sticks. It's tough to clean off, but isn't any good lube supposed to stay in place?

As far as penetrating oils, the only sprays I use are PB Blaster or Kroil.

Amen.
I just fire up the torch on rusty stuff.

For penetrating oil (on spark plug boots, heater hoses, etc, etc, any time I need a little lubricant) I use Zep with Teflon.

i use zep w/teflon for general lube stuff. anything rusty just gets hit with the o/a torch; i dont have time or patience to wait around for some magic potion in a can to "eat" rust.....

I am surprised that no one has mentioned Dupont Multi-Use with teflon. I learned about this stuff on motorcycles boards, I now use it for chains, footpeg pivots, garage door hinges, etc. I used it on an interior door once and it wouldn't stay closed after that. Really amazing stuff.

Lowes has it for maybe $5/can.

I'm going to get kroil, I'm convinced. I use Jigaloo for non-metal (door gaskets), white lithium for door hinges and latches, PB Blaster catalyst for penetrating, WD-40 for the smell, spray Teflon for exposed threads and chains (going to have to find the Dupont above). For all metal tops for woodworking I use paste wax.

I like mouse milk. It is used extensively in the aircraft repair business. If you know an aircraft mechanic, he can get his hands on some or it is available online. The best I ever found.

I spray anything rusted/frozen with 3-4 different lubes. That way I know one of them will work. Or that I just made my own concoction and for some reason it makes me believe that it's much better that way.
