Tyrrell's Classic Workshop - Great host, who runs through some of his classic restorations, from Italian exotica to British bulldog.

colinfurze-Some crazy stuff here, a mad POM doing all the stuff you would have done as a kid if you had 12m subs

Edwin Sarkissian - The tools are mainly guns, which are matched to various objects. The bowling ball cannon.....

Auto Expert John Cadogan - Although mainly car related, John is an engineer and he does some good tool breakdown videos. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.

I don't watch any network/cable TV, hardly any Netflix type streaming so it's YT 99% for me. My top 6 favorites:

1) Inheritance Machine
2) South Main Auto
3) Welker Farms
4) Blacktail Studio
5) Trail Recon
6) Neil Koch: Dig-Drive-DIY

Back when Adam was still working at Motion Industries and making weekly YouTube videos I WOULD NOT miss a single video of his. Fast forward to today, and I can not tell you the last time I watched one of his videos. It's been probably a year. I see them pop up in my subscription feed but I do not bother to click on them. The last several "machining" projects that I did watch him do we very small, easy projects for Adam, yet he stretched them out into at least three or four weeks of content. These little machining project could've easily been one, 20 minute video but he stretched them into a 3 or 4 episode mini series. Don't get me wrong, it's his you tube channel and he can make his content how ever he sees fit. Adam is a great guy and an excellent machinist but his content has changed from what it started out as. And that's totally fine..... it just no longer interests me, that's all.

that exactly how I and a lot of others in the comments feel.
i didn't see his videos from Motion, i started watching when he was at this home shop. i feel like now hes getting a lot of sponsors so he has to please them. i have no interest in CNC and it looks like thats where his channel is headed. if so, then hes unfortunately going to loose a sub.

Well, to be fair.... He started his youtube channel doing videos from the home shop while also working full time at Motion Industries as a machinist. Almost all of his early videos in the home shop were recorded at night or on weekends away from his full time job. Ocasionally he would post short video clips of some real heavy machining projects that he was doing at his full time job (Motion) but they were usually short video clips recorded via his cell phone with no audio narration. At the very end of his time at Motion, it seemed the company opened up a little bit about him recording at work so those last few videos that were recorded in the Motion shop were actually prertty good. At least he didn't feel like he had to hide his recordeing from the managers. Either way, some of the best machining videos he ever made were recorded in his home shop while still working full time at Motion. He's a great machinist and a great person, I just don't care for his current style of videos. More power to him....

I'm not sure I have much to add that hasn't been mentioned. As soon as AvE has a new vid I'm all over it, although his CNC projects don't interest me in the least. I told my wife when I first started watching him years ago that there's just something about him. I love the tool breakdowns and the common themes he looks for to spot strengths & weaknesses.

Edited to add Project Farm, despite it being mentioned by others countless times. I appreciate his lack of agenda as well as his efforts to fairly and accurately test various products and then convey the results in an easily digestible manner. He may occasionally fall short on ideal testing methods, but I'd like to see someone do better from a workshop on their farm.

Essential Craftsmen when I'm looking for something wholesome yet educational regarding the trades.

For Automotive, it was EricTheCarGuy, then ScannerDanner until the Pico Scope came out to play, then Schrodingers Box, and anyone who hasn't seen his channel and is looking for some solid fundamentals regarding auto diag, I'd highly recommend it.

I also watch some arborist's channels because I love to climb safely and cut the dangly bits way up high on my trees. Anything from Arborpod, Kevin Bingham, Countryboy PA, Educated Climber/Treemugs, Mark Chisolm, etc.

I will say YouTube pisses me off more than anything now when they stop a vid less than 20 seconds in for an ad, especially one which can't be skipped. I don't know who to blame for it, but it does seem like some channels have a trend for that sort of thing while others never do.

Not sure what extra features you get with premium, so may be worth it, but for ad removal you can use free browser extensions on pc and vanced on android.
When you pay for premium, you get ad removal everywhere you're signed in. That include smart TVs

YouTube is way better when you can chill on the couch.

get YT premium. i know it ***** paying for it but i havent watched a commercial in years. i honestly forgot they had them until someone was showing me a video on their phone lol.
Agree! I finally decided to get YT premium about a year ago and honestly it's the best money I spend every month for entertainment. I have YT premium and MotortrendOnDemand. Those are the only two "streaming" services that I pay for every month. I only watch MotortrendOnDemand for Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Hot Rod Garage, Engine Masters, and Dirt Every Day. They have now canceled Dirt Every Day and I am honestly considered letting that service go. I subscribed to that service back when Roadkill left YouTube. I was a VERY early subscriber to MTOD. All those extra DISCOVERY channel automotive shows now on the MTOD app mean nothing to me. I don't watch any of that garbage. I only watch Local news on my television, those few shows on MTOD, and the rest of my programming comes from YouTube. Television programing is dead to me.

When I was a young kid in the mid 1970's, I remember my dad INSISTED that we get this new thing called "Cable TV" installed in our house. Sure, we had to now "pay" a monthly bill for television programming but we had far more channels to choose from (26 cable channels, instead of only 5 network TV channels) but the BEST PART was there would be absolutely NO TV COMMERCIALS with this new cable TV service. That was the major selling point! My dad hated TV commercials more than anything else in the world. lol. If you "pay" for TV, then there will not be ANY TV commercials. The networks would just get their money from cable TV subscribers instead of selling TV commercials. It was AWESOME! I remember watching the original movie "JAWS" over and over again with zero commercial breaks....

Somewhere along the way cable TV companies started selling commercials WHILE still collecting their monthly service fees from all of their cable TV subscribers. And somehow everyone just sat by and watched themselves get screwed over by the cable TV companies. Nowadays, we obviously have far more commercials than we have ever had in the past during any given TV show AND the price of cable TV (or satellite TV) is through the roof, and the rates are only going up...... which is crazy to me in these modern times. Considering the cable and satellite companies are no longer the only way for people to get programming into their homes, yet they price their service as if their customers have no choice but to pay their ransom. lolol.

The reason for this long winded post.... I just hope YouTube doesn't go down the same path that the early cable TV companies went down. I hope they don't charge for YT Premium service and then someday start running commercials for paying customers. It sounds ridiculous right?..... Well, I've seen it happen before.

If YT Premium gets ads, I'll cancel in a heartbeat.

For anyone who is a Mac or iOS user, check out Vinegar. It’s a safari plugin that forces Youtube to use an HTML5 player. $1.99. Haven’t seen ads in Youtube for quite some time. `I dropped Youtube Premium for the plugin. Haven’t looked back and wish I made the change much sooner.

I recently started watching SMA and I not sure how I missed that channel. Eric O is very entertaining and knowledgeable. Curtis at CEE is my favorite machinist channel and Adam Booth second. I skip a lot of Adam's newer videos that involve CNC but he still has very informative videos.

Adam had a cylinder rebuild video recently showing how to measure for seals and where to order. After watching the video, I bought a groove micrometer and now have all the tools I need to order seals myself. I got tired of ordering expensive rebuild kits that only use 10% of the seals.

Did you guys notice that there are a bunch of YouTubers that seem to be having major health issues as of late? I just saw Mark Fox post for the first time in a while and thankfully he's on the rebound from cancer. But Tubalcain is also looking worse and has been talking about it for a few videos. I don't know if it is just age catching up with them but I couldn't help but notice.

Marty T - This guy in NZ finds all these abandoned tractors and bulldozers in the backwoods and the owners say, "If you can start it, it's yours!". So he hauls tools, water, motor oil, diesel, batteries whatever into the forest and goes to work. He gets them running then drives them out! Guy is phenomenal! Then he proceeds to do repairs and maintenance on the vehicles and then uses them at his homestead. Plus he fixes all sorts of other malfunctions with what he has on hand.

Bedo's Leatherworks - This cobbler in MD does all sorts of shoe repair, and loves special projects on leather goods of all types with sentimental value. Original manufacturer tells the customer they can't help you - Steve will! Actually visited his shop some years ago - the Mrs. and I were on vacation and close enough to stop by. He asked if we'd like to see the shop, and then the phone rang. He motioned for us to go on back by ourselves. Geez it was like Mecca back there! One week I'm watching his video, the next I'm walking through the place. He had rolls and sheets of all kinds and colors of leather hanging on the walls. Horsehide, alligator, you name it. Freaking awesome!

This is how I feel about Mustie1. I watched every video when he was at his house working on stuff. When he moved to a "real shop" I had a hard stop right there. I made it through about half of two videos then stopped all together.

Something changed and I lost interest.

Taryl Fixes All https://www.youtube.com/@TarylFixesAll starring Taryl Dactyl, recipient of the 2023 Monty Python Lifetime Achivement Award.

I would love to watch that, but I just can't get past his "gimmick". It is a total turn off for me and I move on.

I will see something and thing, man I really want to watch that.....man this is just so stupid......but I really want to watch it......this is just so stupid.....I really want to see this......I just can't take this anymore, lets see if anyone else covered this somewhere.

Youtubers who use music in their videos are on my Do Not Watch list.
Also, Youtubers with too much face-time on the camera and just blab like it's a personal diary. That's Tiktok bullsh*t; do not want.
Time-lapse + Music makes for a lousy video.
And, I don't like my time wasted with stupid intros.

I used to make a few exceptions for channels such as Vice Grip Garage, but his content is so bad now and getting worse.

Youtube was good when channels were happy with just a "like" and a "subscribe." Then the monetization came and turned most channels into a grift. Still, Youtube is better than watching Joe f***ing Namath try to sell me medicaid bullsh*t every 10 minutes.
