I like that Bosch solution better. A little hard to find in the US, but the OP is in the UK, so hopefully easy to get. The only drawback I can see is losing some plunge depth, but in most cases you’re creating dados with this thing so it should not be an issue. Some might consider it a nuisance to unscrew the baseplate and screw that on. Seems like a small price to pay.
The festool can also be used as a circle cutting jig. Replace the knob with an M6 bolt I think. Not often you need a micro adjust on a circle cutting jig, but I have come across that need once in a blue moon to sneak up on a cut.
