What widths are available for pole barn structures?

I'd like to purchase 4', 6', 8', 10', 12' & 14' wide panels that are 16' long to insulate my exterior walls but the average box store doesn't seem to carry wide panels.

Any advice on where I can find wide insulation panels if they exist?

Thanks
Wes

Someone asked about odd widths of batt insulation a while back. Seems to me the answer was yes through some industrial companies but the price was daunting.

What I did on my pole barn was purchase styrofoam type sheets from Menards and cut them to push-fit in the spaces. Not all that bad moneywise. Seems to work so far. Hardest part was getting a load of styrofoam home without decorating the countryside. :willy_nil

Here's what I'm hunting for more information on:

Those images came from this thread:

I'm curious to know more about what's available and where I can purchase this type of insulation in different widths. The poster in the linked thread said he had to purchase the insulation through his local Morton Buildings contractor. The nearest Morton contractor is over an hour and half one way away from me and from what I can tell based on pricing they gave me for a building two years ago, they will probably charge me twice what I should have to pay if I go through them.

So, please share your thoughts and knowledge on what type of insulation rolls of this nature are available, how to install them properly in a pole barn and where I might be able to get them from.

Thanks,
Wes

I almost did it that way but decided against it. Instead i built stud walls inbetween the posts 16" on center.

The reason was because i want to hang cabinets and bolt my work benches to the walls. Also want to build shelving units that also need to be bolted to the walls. With 16"on OC studs my options are endless to where i can put everything.

My buddy just insulated a section of his garage... I see you are somewhat local. He said they can cut insulation to any length you want. Also they have a section of misc. overstock you can look at for cheap. He picked up 4 rolls 4.5ft tall for $150 out the door but I do not remember what the R rating was.

Those are my pics above,

I had to drive about an hour and something to get them also.

I bought them from Morton because my local builder could not get them. I asked the guy at Morton why he can get them and he said because they buy it by the train load. They only offer one size and the rolls are 40' long.

I also talked to them way in advance of needing it and he basically put an extra roll aside every time they had leftovers from a job. After he had enough rolls for me, he sold them to me at his cost. Pretty nice guy if you ask me. I think I'm doing all my walls (30x40x10) for just under $600.

I remember someone on here posting about buying from other builders but I cant remember where.

I dont think you'll find all the different widths though, you'll have to cut it.

Do you have to lay the insulation from top to bottom? Can you use regular rolled insulation and then lay them from side to side? Start at the bottom and lay rows on top of each other. Would that work out OK for you?
