Filling and purging problem

I'm running a closed loop system with a basic hot water tank. I read you can fill/purge with the air eliminator opened OR closed. With my air eliminator closed, I am able to purge all the air out but once I open it up for normal operation I get lots of air entering the system. Here is a picture of my setup:

Correct, that's a little giant submersible pump and I when I had it originally purged with the air eliminator closed I could verify no more bubbles were coming out. With it open, air is introduced into the system.

Maybe the pump is not strong enough to push the volume of water up through the hot water heater?

Are you closing off all but one loop at a time when purging? We use a 1 hp shallow well pump and a 75 gallon horse tank at work to get all the air out. Need to push slot of water in hurry.

Use the house pressure to purge the system, purge one loop at a time. Your system pump is fine. If those are washer hoses just connect one of those to a hose bib or garden hose.

Thanks. I used street pressure to purge the system and now it's running great. The pump runs quiet and I can't hear any air bubbles.
