Final pics. Hard Maple counter on stupid cabinets!

Well...

For those of you that have followed my "free" cabinet install, you'll note that it has come a long way.

It also ceased being "free" a long time ago.

The pictures below are a little hot because the second coat of varnish hasn't dried yet. The counter top was made out of kiln dried hard maple a friend at a furniture factory near me had on hand. It wasn't a "freebie", but he did treat me right on the deal.

I think he did an awesome job with it. It's glued up out of 1 1/2" thick stock and weighs around 100 pounds. The wood is almost as hard as iron. I really love how it turned out.

Stick a fork in the stupid cabinet project. It is done.

That top is absolutely gorgeous!!! Totally makes the cabinets look like the looser with the HOT wife (I know from experience!!). Oops - that IS your garage right?

Looks very nice man. I would have either routed the edges a slight bit to keep them from splitting if the edge was caught with something.
