been scouring around for a cheap in expensive blast cabinet... finally broke down and ordered one today. I decided to get a small bench top since i have full access to a large blast cabinet at work when it is free. this way i can do all the small parts and odds n ends at home when needed, and then the large stuff at work on the pressure machine we have.

weighed in on several out there: Harbor Freight, Northern APC, TSC JobSmart, Eastwood, etc...

Was leaning towards the Jobsmart model from TSC since it was only $104, has light, lid, gloves, etc and gets good reviews. can easily upgrade over time as needed. stumbled on the Eastwood site to do some reading, and they have the 30721 model $159.99 on sale today for $125.99 plus 10% off making it $113.39 PLUS FREE GROUND SHIPPING @!! really hard to beat, it is a little larger than the TSC model, Better Gun and Hoses and taperd bottom vs trough for better media return.

think it is the best bang for the buck... will post what i have once it arrives, figure a week or two it should be here.

I just bought the Eastwood version. Assembly is a pita, but about what I expected. I bought some silicone to seal the seams. Works good!

What are the air requirements (PSI and CFM) ?

Are replacement parts (nozzles, glass, gloves) readily available ?

That is one of the things i looked at before ordering, were there spare parts available and at a reasonable cost ?!? they have pretty much all the consumables plus other parts. Only thing i did not see was the Screen/ Work Platform.

Specs from Eastwood:
-Affordable way to media blast at home
-Space efficient bench top design
-Durable powder coated cabinet
-Holds up to 25 lbs of blast media
-Holds up to 50 lbs of parts
-High quality gun with replaceable tips
-Needs just 10cfm @ 80psi
-19in x 15in window lens
-Full window sized tear offs
-Fits in just 24in x 20in space

And reading it seems many people buy this (Eastwood) gun to use in there Harbor Freight models as a reasonable upgrade. I will see how it works as is, but will add in an air feeder tube similar to the TP Tools model for pickup. And if that does not work just order the TP Tools Pickup Tube Kit. Possible to upgrade gun kit as well if it is NOT satisfactory, plus maybe for better standard nozzle options.

Yeah with the 10% off i also ordered:

Replacement Tear Off Films (5 in pkg)...#30770.....$4.99
Replacement Blast Gun Nozzle Kit........#20068.....$8.99

Other Spare/ Replacement Parts Available:

Replacement Light Assembly..............#30075.....$19.99
Replacement Transformer and Switch......#30774.....$23.79
Replacement Cabinet Air Filter..........#30773.....$7.99
Replacement Plastic Window..............#30772.....$19.99
Replacement Light Assembly..............#30775.....$19.99
Replacement Gloves......................#20070.....$19.99
Replacement Blast Gun Assembly..........#20067.....$26.99

Want to Upgrade it with TP Tools Goodies ??

24"L Skat Blast Cabinet Gloves..........#6050-00...$27.00
Gun & Pickup Tube Upgrade Kit...........#US-30.....$82.00

reading through the instructions, it says it comes with roll of foam with sticky side to deal the seams ?? wonder how good this really works ?? they also recommend caulking the corners where the tape meets.

anyone assembled and used one of these ?

I want to put it together ONLY once, and want it SEALED !! do not want media going everywhere through the seams and cracks.

lol i was reading about using caulk or lexel. putting a small bead to seal the seams completely !! want it pretty air tight as NOT to make a mess of media.
