I finally got my turn with the electrician. We are ready for the rough in inspection.

My concrete guy also found time to send a guy over to remove the last truck load of gravel from the yard. He was using a dump trailer and a 3/4 ton pick up. It was an all day event. At sundown I told him he could spread the remaining two loads out if he wanted to.

Hi Mike
First time on your thread and just read through it.
Your last posts are about the garage sign. (Very nice) I had to chuckle when you told toolfool it was from ETSY
My wife has been seller there for several years.
I first noticed your bus sign in your old garage and I am real partial to your Mid 50's GMC (55 56 or 57?)
You've build yourself a very nice place to play and I'm sticking around to see how you use the place.

Looks like the mouse patrol is in place and ready for work. Nice pets

Thanks for sharing

Don

Thanks Don! My GMC is a 56’. There are a couple of other signs on the same wall but they are not visible in the picture. I got that bus sign off of the old depot in my home town. I have built two trucks in my attached garage. I’m tired of working like that! Hopefully my future projects won’t disappoint.

Garage looks great. I like the copper colored roof with the dark blue walls in that one sunset shot. Should be lots of space and I am jealous of your door orientations. I've got 1000 sq.ft. but the door is on the narrow end and it seems like I am constantly re-arranging cars to get the one out at the back. We have had some ice in St. Louis but no real snow - I'm surprised you beat us. We have had the tornado warning though!!

Since my last post I have been busy with the electrical work. I have hung four more lights, 12 double gang 110 outlets and the 208 circuit is almost complete. I need to figure out how to wire the 208v 40 amp dual pole breaker. My electrician friend has a serious family situation that is consuming all of his spare time, so I’m on my own for now. The lift is scheduled for installation next Saturday.

I have also secured a scaffolding system to use, which has been a great aid thus far. EF2E172F-935D-4F0D-9CB6-814D0D8B35AC.jpegF9E6DE55-6D0F-4FD6-98E1-0DDC4CD51D46.jpegB2C151A0-53BC-4614-9444-69C4ABBF8BAF.jpeg5A9F7751-981C-4F12-9553-4F306A819F61.jpeg

I have also gotten permission to salvage this old pole barn that suffered catastrophic damage in a recent storm. It’s about 50’x100’ and is covered in old tin. There is a lot of wood that I can use inside the shop and I will probably use the tin as my inside wall covering. If I don’t use the metal I will sell it for scrap.

@qwerty18 it wasn’t a package. I used a builder that had a set of plans drawn for my needs. I did consider metal options. I couldn’t get any Red Iron builders to engage my requests for quotes. The tubular building quote was more than the post and frame building I had built.

Sorry for the teaser John. It was 5:00 when they finished. It was cold and raining. I needed to get everything back inside and closed up.

A friend of mine has let me use his Kabota tractor for a while. So I started moving some of the larger items from the garage into the shop. Then I started moving the green shed onto the slab behind shop. Everything was going great, until it wasn’t. The only left to right cross member in the building failed. It had enough of the pushing and pulling. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Time to fall back and regroup.
