I installed some more insulation today. Tomorrow I need to pull nails and empty the trailer for next weekend. Next weekend I plan to salvage more metal. Hopefully I will finish the roof and start on the walls.

I finished demolition of the roof today. I think I have enough tin for the ceiling. I was also able to salvage a doubled 2”x12”x42’ beam. I need a pair of them for my loft. Tomorrow I will start pulling metal for the walls.

@Toolfool the metal is stacked at my house, so it should be safe enough. If not, there may/may not be gun fire. That metal is quite noisy to move.

I had a productive afternoon. It took me about 4 hours to remove the metal from the side of the building. There is approximately 1000 sqft of tin laying on the trailer now.

Apparently removing the tin from the side wall gave the wind better access to the inside wall. I drive by this pole barn on my way to work. It sits well off the road but still pretty visible. Monday I thought something looked different from a distance, so at lunch I stopped by to check it out.

After 4 days of pulling wood and tin, over the last few weekends, yielded this pile of lumber. Plus what I have already used.

I couldn't believe how much the quality of store bought lumber has gone downhill in the last couple years. I needed some 12' 2x4's for a project last year and we had to pick though half of the lift just to find some that were straight! The 2x4's we pulled out of the schoolhouse after 40 years were in better shape.

I have experienced the same thing. I bought 2”x6”x10’ earlier this year and struggled to find what I needed in the 3 racks Lowe’s had on hand. I only needed 15

Here's what MOST of my 2x4's looked like. Top of this is nailed square to top plate. Good thing I own a 'tweaker' or I would have created firewood out of all of them.

After all of the rain we had last week I decided to spend the weekend working on/in the shop. I framed some more and then installed a bit more insulation.

Good progress this weekend. All of the high framing is complete on the north wall. After I pull some more wire I can get busy framing the room in this end of the building. I apologize for the poor picture. It was late and all of the doors were closed.

A little preview of tomorrow’s task. My order arrived early today so after work I hung the first lamp before the sun went down. Tomorrow I hope to hang the other three and get them all wired.

All 4 lights are installed and wired but not hot yet. While it’s raining tomorrow I will wire them to the panel.

Well it didn’t rain during the daylight hours today but I still finished the wiring for the lights. They’re on motion sensors and currently set at 30% illumination.

I had actually hoped to start hanging the metal in the ceiling this week but I’m still trying to figure out how to do that single handed. I want to install the ceiling before I finish the walls.

Today I finally “finished” the insulation. It’s actually only 99% complete but everything left is low and has been left out for strategic purposes.
