To be honest I've been too embarrassed to post about this project ever since this thread and seeing the responses. I knew something wasn't right, but didn't know how bad it could get. Shortly after this my "contractor" ran off with the 2nd draw and never returned leaving me to pick up the pieces and find subs myself. This is my first house and my first construction project and man has it been a doozy!
While it's not perfect by any means, I'm finally finished with trades people and will be fitting out the rest myself (paint, caulk, flashing, interior stuffs, etc). I've learned a ton through this process and will go into my next projects with a much more scrutinous eye. Especially here in TX. I'm excited to work on my projects with 4 walls, a clean floor, BADASS lighting, and a 4 post lift once I'm done licking my wounds or the lawsuit reaps rewards (not holding my breath).
Thanks to this community for all the incredibly insightful posts that helped me get through this. I'm excited to finally start living my life in the AG (after garage) era!
