First time I've seen this thread and just went through the whole thing! Great workmanship! I love the workshop and your pics have given me a lot of ideas. I love the clamp column! The center space could have some shelves or drawers added too!
The miter saw station is very cool too! 20 foot I-beams! First rate idea and lots of storage in the bases!
How do you like the Clear Vue Cyclone? I just found out about them here on GJ a few days ago and it seems they set the standard to meet for small particle DC systems. I've been debating whether to try to build one or buy a ready made one. Now that you've had it for a few years, how do you like it? Any problems with it?

Thanks for spending some time in my world. My ClearVue has been the best addition to my woodshop. The amount of dust and chips it inhales is amazing. With the added Powermatic air filter hanging from the ceiling, I no longer gag and cough my way through a project. I may even live longer.
Finished an interesting little project last night. The friend I built the dutch pocket door for asked me to build a couple of base cabinets for his customer's rustic cabin. She likes things that are unique and rough looking. Then she came up with some 2-1/2" thick walnut slabs she wanted to use for countertops. And a farm sink. The slabs weren't long enough to miter together so I had to get creative. The tricky part was getting the heavily beveled live-edges to meet. Refrained from sanding out all the bandsaw marks. It will get a few coats of tung oil. Also added a lazy susan in the dead corner of the sink cabinet. Came out OK. My friend thinks his customer will love it.

Did you ever figure out a way to slice that cedar round into table tops?
Either way, I have a buddy that's probably not far from you, he's on Thompson Rd, and has a portable sawmill.

The big remodel we did earlier in the year (the one with the bamboo cabinets) was supposed to include a new entry door, but the homeowners could not decide what they wanted. They liked the 'Asian' influence (thus the bamboo) but weren't finding anything that appealed to them, until recently. The original door and sidelights were a 5'0" x 6'8".
We reframed the opening for the new 7'0" x 7'0" (with 3'6" door, 2.25" thick). Baldwin hardware. The sidelights have a pattern that can be described as "Asian", I guess. This was a long day.

Been a long time since I added anything to my thread. There hasn't been a lot to show off, mostly basic remodel work.
I did have this one cool project. My best friend from HS called to let me know that his youngest son, who had recently graduated from Indiana U. with a music degree, would be attending a one year program at the Seattle Film Institute for composing music for motion pictures. This was great news since they live in Cincinnati,OH and I haven't seen David since he was 2 years old. Two weeks before Rob and David were to drive from OH to Seattle I get an email from Rob asking if I could build David a 'musician's desk'. Photos were emailed and I had less than 2 weeks to design and build this desk. And it had to be able to be dis-assembled easily for future moves. I spent my evenings and weekends in the shop , mocking up, building, finishing right up to the day of delivery and install. The time restriction left me using whatever materials I had in the shop .... birch plywood and some bamboo pieces from a previous job (and lots of threaded inserts, T-nuts, and 1/4-20 bolts). I didn't think to take pictures, but David sent me a couple. I think it turned out OK, he likes it.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading through this, especially with the photos of your carpentry. I've started building some basic stuff around the home and love seeing what experienced professionals can do.

Project completed several months ago. Interesting house. Main floor has 12' ceilings, VG fir trim, fir cabinets, lots of glass for the sunset views. There's a guest apartment above the garage accessible from outside and from second floor of main house. About 1000 sf of main floor is covered in "live roof" (??). Owners laid out every single tile on the floor for placement EXACTLY the way they wanted it.

John, that's an amazing looking house, both inside and outside. The blue shower is OK but the multi-color one is not compatible with my double-vision. I'd have to shower or bathe with both eyes closed.
